Anyone do a SAND CEREMONY??

We would really love to add something to our wedding ceremony and We`ve been thinking about doing a sand ceremony ...but I`m wondering about how the sand travels back? I`m guessing the layers don`t really stay put.

 

Did anybody do a sand ceremony?

Do any of you girls have pictures of your vases? or maybe just tell me what your experience was?

I have never done it for a wedding, but it you press down on the top layers and make sure you add enough sand and a top it normally holds pretty well. I have also heard of people putting a think layer of white glue(that dries clear) on the top and then dusting a little sand on top and letting it dry.

I dont think I am doing one, I thought about it and its going to be very heavy to bring there and back... Instead, we are lighting two floating lanterns at our reception and setting them in the air.
