Hi everyone!!

 

Love this forum! Getting married April 2010 most likely in Punta Cana! At this point choosing between a couple of resorts: mainly Oceans, Majestic Colonial and Bahia Principe. All have very different price ranges!

 

My FI and I are both law schools and all of our friends are still in school also. Anyone in the same situation and wondering what is the max amount we can ask of our friends for this trip? It seems that to get something great we always end up in the 1700's $.

Congratulations! I am in the same position with being in school, we are getting married the month after I finish my degree...so I can understand the worry about pricing. I would say 1700 is reasonable to ask friends and family to spend if you give them sufficient time to save. Good luck on all the planning!

Congrats and welcome to the forum. I'm getting married in Mexico and our price for our guests is just over $1700 so I think its reasonable. The way I looked at it and from the opinions of some of my guests I spoke to, most preferred to pay a few hundred more and not have to worry about the service not being to their standard. But everyone's different - so remember that you will NEVER please everyone. Good luck and happy planning!
