How awful! Although I must admit, aside from not packing my dress in my checked luggage, I also wouldn't have given up my seat on an overbooked flight, knowing that my dress was in my luggage! It's enough of a gamble giving up your seat when you just have you regular stuff in your luggage.

 

I wonder what they will do to compensate?
