This is really sad, but I personally don't feel sorry for her! I used to work for the airlines and think anyone who packs something so valuable in their checked bag is an idiot. People pack their meds or their car keys all the time and something like a weight and balance issue comes up and their bag doesn't make it on that flight and their screwed.

She'll have to make a claim but they have to go back through who was working and exactly where this bag was, like if tsa had to actually open it and go through it, etc.

Good reminder for upcoming travelers to bring most important things w/ you onboard

Funny - I ALWAYS carry my meds and keys - I'm terrified that I'll lose them! I wonder has any BDW bride checked their dress? It seems like everyone is carrying them on - that seems like the smartest thing to do.

Oh ladies, I have worked in an airport for 7 years. PLEASE carry on ANYTHING you cannot live without. We get claims all the time for the craziest things people had in their checked baggage that "disappeared" and I think to myself, WHY did you put that in a bag that goes out of your control for HOURS!! Last week it was a 14K Rolex... dumb dumb dumb...

I really feel bad for her though

Not everyone understands how the airport system works

I work the military air port and I'm asuming other than where we go and the air plane type its no diffrent and there are bags lost ALL the time... sometimes to never be seen again

Yes learn from others mistaks

Though it is a VERY sad person to steal a wedding gown :/

ASSUMING it was actually stolen! Our airport screens alot of bags by hand and when its busy it can be easy to take something out and forget to return it to a bag, or the wrong bag.

Sorry I really stick by the airport and it really could have been an honest mistake. there is a chance it could have been stolen, but probably not likely. Airport employees don't have time to go through peoples bags and see what they have.

I understand some people don't understand how airports work, but if you plan on traveling you should do some research especially on whether or not to leave your wedding dress in checked luggage.

Ladies DON't check your dress! don't check medication, keys, any important documents. Not only could things be removed during screening, but its very common for bags to get damaged, such as falling off a cart on the tarmac and catching and being dragged around it will rip holes and no guarantee all of your stuff will get back, or a bag is damaged during flight, when you open up the cargo if one random thing is out it isn't easy to figure out what bag it belongs to or if a couple of bags break or rip open.

Aside from NOt putting those things in your bag, if there is something really important you do have to put in your bag and you're concerned about it go buy a tsa lock, they're $5 and tsa has a key to get into them, but no one else can get in w/out the lock code
