Congrats fellow Cuban bride! Ask away with any questions about getting married in Cuba, there are great people on the forum who are always willing to help.

I have no idea what they photographer at you resort is like but from what I have seen from other resorts is that the photography is different and typically not at the professional level we see in Canada. The pictures are beautiful but the quality usually lacks because of the resources they have. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for and what you would be happy with. I have heard though the the IB Varadero is an amazing resort! Good luck with you planning :)

Hi there!

I am getting married in less than a month at the IV and I am bringing my own photographer from home.

If you are on facebook, there is a group calles Iberostar Varadero brides and you will be able to see the difference between the resort photographer and a photographer from home. It depends how important pics are for you. To us, it was our priority so that's why we chose someone from home.

If you have any other questions regarding the resort, feel free to ask.

Happy planning!

Hey miss Banana!

We are hesitating between the beach gazebo and the garden gazebo because of the "people watching" people!!! I don't want to end up having old fat men in red speedos in my pics...And Belkis said that the garden gazebo was way more private. But at the same time, I want to get married on the beach! I guess we will find out when we get there!

I will post my review after the wedding for sure and meanwhile if you need any help, let me know!

LOL, ya I know what you mean about the fat guy in the red speedo!! I herd the garden gazebo was a little small, but I guess it depends on how many people are coming to your wedding..it may work wonderfully for you!

Anyways I cant wait to see how it goes for you!! I am wishing for great weather for you!

Oh Amelie...I have one more question...I am totally confused about the paperwork that needs to be done in regards to the marriage certificate..is there anything that needs to be done before we go down? This is our first wedding for the both of us...so I know we eliminate a bunch of paperwork because of that. So let me know anything important when you get a chance!!

Thank you soo much

The only papers you need to fill up are the papers that Belkis will send you my e-mail. You also need to provide a passport copie that you wil scan and send to her. All this will be done by e-mail. I also recommend that you book your restaurant with her as soon as you know where you want to have your dinner. ( it all depends on how many people you are ) We chose the cuban restaurant because we are 25 and the mediterranean is too small. I also like the cuban because it is very big and it is outside. It is also very big so you could have your table in a corner and not feel like everybody is starring at you. I heard the food is also better at the cuban, it all depends on taste.

Let me know if you need more info.

Don't forget that you will also need your birth certificate once you are there.

Umm.... you will also need to send copies of your witnesses passports, along with your own. Faxing the info to the resort was challenging, so I scanned it and sent it as a PDF file - this worked perfectly.

You will need to copy your birth certificates as well and send with the paper work that is sent to you by the resort.

When you arrive you will need to provide your birth cert, passport, and tourist cards (as given on the plane), to the wedding coordinator. She will also need the passport and tourist cards of your witnesses.

So be ready - we had to chase our best man all over the resort to get ahold of his passport!

Well...no cat fights here...

All the papers that Belkis will send you tell you what she needs. ( as I told you ) and you will be able to scan them and send it to her by e-mail.

I guess it all depends on the resort where you are getting married but for me, I needed the original copy of my birth certificate to bring to Varadero.

Hope this helps...
