Guests' names on mugs???

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to put the name of each guest on their travel mug, or another cute idea to tell the mugs apart? My FI just went to a DW and they were given mugs, but everyone's was the exact same and they kept getting them mixed up.

I bought paper tags and tied them around the handles, but after a week, the tags were falling apart. Maybe you could tie a different colored ribbon around the handles or attach tags that are used to put around wine glass stems to tell them apart.

I made little charms with everyone's name on them and attached them to the handle of the mug...like a wine charm. I just picked up some letter beads and colour beads at Walmart. It did take forever but was definitely worth it. Here's a couple of pics,

Great idea about the charms!

 

We made paper hang tags w/ our logo on one side and the guests name on the other, and also wrote everyone's name in permanent marker on the bottom of each mug.

Dumb question, how you u fasten the charm 'ring' up? tie a knot in the string stuff?

We brought with us some foamy stickers from the dollarstore and i carried them around faithfully in my purse at all times.

 

We wrote a lot of the names as nicknames for our friends/guests....
