So we would need passport and copies of birth Cert.

how long does it take to get copies of your birth Cert? Can I make a copy of my birth Cert that my parents have in my baby album?
Yes. If you don't have that you can order them online from your state. I couldn't find my bc so I did that. It came a few days after I ordered it. For sure less than a week.

Does an apostille and all that stuff apply for Cabo weddings? I know down in PV, RM and Cancun it does....

I don't know? What's that?

Also how do I go about with the license when I go back to Orange County? What are the steps....for those of you in CA.

You sure are keeping us interested, your plans keep getting better LMAO! Wow Drea that is awesome, isn't it cool how things work out? But now whose wedding am I going to crash in S.F. this labor day? bunny_4.gif

You just go to your courthouse and turn in the form, in L.A. you can print it online and bring it ready to go. The fee here is $70 and the marriage license is valid for 90 days, meaning the ceremony must be performed within 90 days of getting the license. If your Cabo marriage will be legal I'm not sure what the process is, but otherwise you can have a legal civil ceremony at your courthouse, that was $25 in L.A.

Oh, found it, here's yours:

It's a document that certifies your state issued documents (like bc) are authentic, as required by the Hague Convention.

You may want to email Maye about the legal requirements. I don't know about the Cabo area at all, but my understanding is that in all of Mexico you have to have an apostille attached to both birth certificates. The apostille is obtained through the State Department in the state the documents were issued in (state that issued your birth certificate).

I'm sure the other Cabo brides know more about the requirements tho...

As with everything else in Mexico, it depends on who you ask. If I remember correctly, I don't think brides that have gone through Maye have needed apostilled documents. I did not need apostilles at Dreams either. In fact, I'm not sure what else I really have to do with my documents, because I just took my marriage certificate from Cabo to the Social Security Office & the Secretary of State and they issued me new Social Security Cards and Drivers' License- I didn't even get the documents translated...that should probably be it's own thread! lol
