Dreams of Tulum...or maybe Cabos!

Hi, I'm Christine... I got engaged in Australia over the Christmas time, but have been too crazy busy with school, work, and buying our own place with my boyfriend to do any planning for our wedding in May 2010. However, I have been lurking on this forum for past while, and have gotten some fantastic ideas! This forum is fueling my excitement for all the wedding planning process. I want to keep it fun and stress free if at all possible.smile125.gif

I've been to the Mayan Riviera twice and know it to be absolutely gorgeous. Tulum has special meaning for Anthony and I, but I am so curious about what the Pacific (Cabos) would be like--the pics of weddings there look amazing.

Any hints or advise welcomed!

Hi Christine, I'm a newbie myself and I'm getting married in Cabo next year. I'm from southern california and have been to cabo several times for vacation. i have not been to the riviera maya, but i know a few who have. from what i know, cabo is less "tropical" (i.e. no white sand beaches with clear blue water). The beaches are beautiful in cabo, don't get me wrong, but there are only a few places along the corridor where you can actually swim in the ocean. you can google cabo to see what the corridor is, but it's basically the main stretch of land (along the ocean from the airport to downtown). most of the hotels are secluded, meaning you'll need to take a shuttle, taxi, etc...to go downtown where most of the shops are. bottom line is that cabo is amazing. it's very relaxing and most of the hotels are beautiful and have huge pools, so you really dont need the ocean. i hope that helps.

Hey there LA bride!

I have just called my TA to ask her for a quote for Dreams Cabos as well. What resort or hotel are you planning to get married at? Are you honey-mooning elsewhere after the wedding or are you wedding-mooning it there?

I would love a separate honeymoon but will have to see if we can afford it! My thought was that we could marry in Tulum then go to Cabos for a week.
