Our 50" Plasma is DEAD

Recommended Posts

Can you believe it? Seriously girls, I am totally being tested lately!!! lol!

ANyways, I guess it is not plugged into a surge protector and we had a nasty storm the other night. I guess Martin said it's been acting a little weird (I didn't know this) but then last night just totally died. It won't even turn on sad.gif

He thinks things like this are covered by Home Owner's Insurance - anyone know? I am running around like crazy today so can't deal with that yet. (The house is in my name so I'll have to be the contact person) Probably tomorrow. If you have any experience with things like this I'd love to hear! I'll try and check back on this thread later today. TIA!

EEK! That's brutal, sorry. This happens alot down here in Florida and recently to one of my co-workers. UNfortunatley her insurance didn't cover it... hope yours does. And if you end up getting another plasma and buy a surge protector buy a good one, don't cheap out because some of the cheaper ones are horrible quality and won't help either.

Good luck JL

the same thing happened to my parents' house a few years ago.. their house got struck and most of the electronics were busted. it may depend on what coverage you have, but they were able to get their tv replaced and submit the expense for reimbursement to their homeowners' company.

i'm keeping my fingers crossed this will be an easy fix for you so you can concentrate on all of the other important stuff going on! good luck, girl!!

Well, let's count bad thing number one as Swine Flu. Or you could count it as me getting Lyme disease. LOL, enough bad things already! Time for lots and lots of GOOD things!! :)

We've had the tv for over 2 years, the warranty was for 2 years i believe.
