Contemplating a Disney Wedding...

Recommended Posts

So we're still unsure of where we want to be married, and since I'm such a Disney freak, we thought that maybe we could get married at WDW. FI has been there before as a kid and loved it, and it's still a DW for us, because we're all the way up here in Newfoundland.

ANYWAY, I'm wondering what you ladies have heard about Disney Weddings. I've gone to a couple of travel agencies here, and all I get is "Oh, it's too expensive, you don't want to go there. Cuba is nice!" I get it, I'm young, and I walk around wearing jeans and a Slayer hoodie. That doesn't mean I'm poor. And besides, who says I'm paying for it? They just refuse to give me any information because I'm "young and stupid" (all of the travel agents I've seen are females in their 50's and 60's with small-town minds).

I ordered the information package from their website, but it's taking YEARS to show up. So I thought I'd get some input from you fabulous gals :) TIA!

OOOO Disney!!! I love it!!!

There are MANY options. Now, there is the getting married in the park option (think EXTREME money), or there are other options. You can get married at the gazebo across the pond from the Magic Kingdom (that's where I've seen a bunch of weddings). It's SO beautiful and you can see the fireworks and everything from right there. So magical.

Or you can have a wedding at one of the many walt disney world resorts... and then what a fun group excursion it would be to go to the parks!!!

SO many options!!

Best of luck!

I just went to a wedding at Disney and I was a bit skeptical about it. I'm not into Disney and haven't been there since I was a child. I had no idea how much fun I was about to have.

The Disney wedding sure proved me wrong. It was fabulous. I'm not sure what the costs were but I can say from a guest perspective I really enjoyed myself. The food was the best I've ever had and because it's Disney we had so much we could do for fun. The wedding itself was executed amazingly. They had wedding coordinators who ran the show and it was flawless.

After the wedding, I've decided that I would like to return to Disney sometime soon!

Now I'm getting even more excited lol Since we're travelling quite a distance and we both have small families, there's probably only going to be 10 or 15 of us in total, so we don't need a big, huge, elaborate venue. I just don't really want to be on an island resort because I want to be able to still visit malls and have fun, laying on a beach all day isn't really my idea of fun. Plus FI has rosacea, so he can't stay in the sun for very long. So a Disney wedding sounds PERFECT! I just don't want to break the bank lol

I think having a Disney wedding would be so much fun! If Disney is your thing, then girl do it wink.gif I can imagine you'd have some fabulous pics, and that your entire party would have a blast! I don't think we have a Disney bride yet on BDW ~ so it would be awesome if you were the first. punk.gif

Thanks ladies :) I'm still patiently waiting for my Disney info... I did get a Disney vacation brochure from a TA, but they had nothing on Disney weddings. They're very discouraging, so that makes me want one even more lmao

FI and I are not really into laying on a beach and drinking our faces off and tanning all day. Some people love that, and that's great, but we're not the types to just lay around and do nothing, so I think Disney would be perfect. We can go on rides and stuff, plus there are shopping malls in Florida when we get sick of WDW lol And we can still lay around and do nothing when we feel like it. It's like the best of all worlds ^_^
