I'm not sure if they come in mini-bottles or not. Ask at a liquor store that carries that larger bottles.

I am a wine rep and deal with liquor stores, so if one of their distributors carries Brugal, they will be able to special order it for you in mini bottles at no extra charge (if they are available in that size). And since you will be buying a larger amount - you will likely get a better price than their regular charges.

Are you going tro be using them as favors in the DR ... or for an AHR? Because you can't take all that through customs, FYI. We bought Brugal for our BM's & GM once we got to the DR. There is an outdoor market down the beach from PPR where you can barter for everything.

hi...i'm actually a native of teh Dominican Republic. brugal is sold in small bottles. if you want to buy them in Washington Heights i would suggest to go to any liqour store in Washington or there is a liquor store in 207th street by the bridge in between the Bronx and Manhattan. they should sell them there. if you are taking them with you to DR...i would suggest buying them there. they are alot cheaper and you can find them from any local vendor. you can also check at the duty free shop at the airport in DR. i remeber everytime my dad goes he buys i believe its a like a 5 gallon bottle of black label (it's so big it has a crane to pour!) for like $120. that's super cheap for black label. another type of liqour i would suggest is "mama juana" it's a local specialty. or if you want to save some more money - try Presidente beer or Quisqueyana beer.

thanks to you both....but the reason i dont want to buy it over there is because i dont want to have to go over and have to search for this and be scared that i may not find it....do you know how much liq i can take through customs? i can always divide them through out me, my mom, my sis, my FI, my dad..etc lugage...but only if there is a limit and i can at least bring some...i work in the height so im goign to check now on break time lol...i know 207 so ill check there also!! thanks ladies!!

Then buy it at the duty-free shop at the airport.

Also - as I mentioned, PPR has a HUGE mall within walking distance that will have what you need ... and the local vendors literally a short walk down the beach from PPR will let you haggle for pricing.

It is a MUCH better idea to get it once you are there. You will have more hassle with customs than you will getting what you need once you arrive. Guaranteed.

Lucile I think this is the best route to go honestly. Not the same but I did that with the typical PR candies :)

i looked all over washington height, which is where lots of dominicans live here in nyc and everyone said that brugal or any dominican liqour DOES NOT make mini bottles, and i did not want to go to DR and waste my vacation time looking for favors or worryign about it so i ended up doing personalized shot glasses for OOT bags and for the reception table favors i did blue starfish blown glass wine bottle stoppers...the wine bottle stoppers came in a pretty white box and i bought blue ribbon that said thank you in silver and tied the boxes up with that...check out my review for pics...and this was easier to carry.
