Etiquette in changing dates

Recommended Posts

hey! I did a search for this, and couldn't find anything (but if this has been posted a lot before and somebody woudn't mind redirecting me, I would really appreciate it!).

My question is, what is the etiquette around changing dates. We finally got our travel plans arranged (Jan 18-25 2010), and we got a date (Jan 23rd at noon at ROR), so we would like to send out save the dates so that people can start getting their travel plans organized, however, we are hoping that a date will become available a day or two earlier (we will still be travelling on the same days though). SO, what happens if i put Jan 23rd on my save the date's, and the date gets changed to the 22nd or 21st in a few weeks (or if it gets changed so late that my invites are already out)?

We did the same thing and our wedding date changed b/c we were able to move it earlier in the week. But like you, our guests are all flying there to be there that whole week anyways, so it doesnt matter what day it was on. And if you have people coming in on different days than just that week, make sure you let them know in advance that the date may move up a day or two.
