It is very similar to Ann Boleyn's biography (I have a read a few but Alison Weir's is my favorite author, her Elizabeth I biography is also great) - also a good read is Mary Queen of Scots (Henry VIII's first daughter by Queen Katherine - season 1) by Antonia Frasier. Because the books are of course non-fiction they're kind of hard to get through, but they really are great... and it helps to watch to the show to actually know what's going on and who is who!!!

And it totally helps that JRM is so darn HOT! wow.gif
Mary Queen of Scots is not the same Mary as Henry's daughter. Its confusing. But Mary his daughter was Queen of England after Edward. Mary is actually Elizabeth 1 cousin. Henry's Sister Margaret had a son James V and his daughter is Mary Queen of Scots. It gets confusing cause they all have the same name. Hahah! Anyways just wanted to clear that up. And I only have it fresh on my mind b/c I just watched the movie Mary Queen of Scots. She was actually executed by Elizabeth 1.

You are totally right! Wow I need to brush up! This whole time I've been wondering about the age difference, now it makes sense to me... they weren't half sisters they were 1st cousins! It's all coming back to me now...

I've never seen the Mary Queen of Scots movie... is it new or old? Is it good?

Mary Queen of Scots and Anne of a Thousand days are both much older 69 and 71 I believe. They are ok. It was interesting b/c its the same characters Wosley and Rotchford and such played by different people and they act different.

Haha. No. I take it to the extreme. My DH gets frustrated. I looooooove history. So I take a certain time period and i read every book and watch every movie and google the heck out of it till I know who every person and how they are related. I don't even think that Mary Queen of Scots is mentioned in the tudors. Margaret her grandmother is but they don't even say she has a child.

I did want to mention that Mary daughter of Henry and Catherine is known as Blood Mary. B/c of her Catholic upbringing she ends up killing 300 dissenters. She was actually passed up by her Brother Edward VI who was 15 when he died. Lady Jane Grey was made queen for 9 days. Edward didn't want Mary queen b/c she was Catholic. However she rode in and executed her. That is also a movie which I love. Called Lady Jane Grey. And a funny piece of info is even though their Mothers hated each other Mary and Elizabeth are buried next to each other in a tomb. Which says something like "Sisters in hope and resurrection"
Just weird irony i think.

Ah don't tell me that! I am so behind in my recorded episodes!!! I only just watched Jane Seymour die -- so sad, she was my fav sad.gif. Although I have seen clips of Joss Stone playing Anne of Cleves, so I'm excited about that. Maybe that's what I need to do on my days off :)

I was wondering the same thing. What happens when he gets fat?
