Best foundation etc for photos

Recommended Posts

I am sure there are posts on this but couldn't find them. I am about to buy foundation for my wedding. I normally wear bare minerals but want something a little more for the photos (outdoors of course) but don't want it to be too thick so I can still use it later because I know it will be pricey. I am willing to spend a decent amount to look good in the pics if i need to.

I know that spf etc. is not good for photos. I am looking for what brand to get. I have seen on other sites that HD make-up, Christian Dior, Mac etc particularly mentioned on other sites. What do you all think and what are you all wearing? Oh and what powder with whatever brand you recommend if any? Thanks.

I use MAC Studio Fix Foundation and I love it. For powder I use MAC Blot Pressed Powder. I used to use Merle Norman and I had to have touch-ups during the day, but with the MAC I go all day without touch-ups and it looks flawless in pics! I also normally wear mineral foundation, but will be wearing "Prescriptives" blended foundation for the wedding - if you go to one of their counters at a department store they can specially blend a shade to exactly match your skin tone! Also, it's great for sensitive/acne prone skin (ME! LOL), and does really great under all lights.

My makeup artist also swears by Armani foundation, if that helps at all ~ it is very nice and lightweight. I wore that for our Engagement pics, but now my skin is too sensitive to wear anything other than Prescriptives (not to knock Prescriptives, they do have a very good product).

I've heard Mac is very good also, but have never tried it.

Hope that helps! :)

I am a Mary Kay girl...all the way! I use a liquid foundation with a powder over it & it's perfect! It is not heavy at ALL. YOu could look up a local beauty consultant on the website & they will work to figure out a look or just a foundation that works for you!

Hope it helps!!
