Going to Germany in two weeks

I don't know whether this is the right place for this, but I thought I would throw it out there in case anyone is interested. I'll be spending 10 days in Germany attending a girlfriend's wedding at a castle. I've never had any interest in visiting Europe, but now that I have started researching it, I am getting very excited. If anyone has any suggestions on where to visit, or any questions for your own research, let me know.

Heidelberg,Dresden,Alps,Neuschwanstein Castle,Würzburg are great places to visit.

Where in Germany will you be? I agree that heidelburg is awesome... but I traveled around a large portion of Germany/Austria, so depending on where you are going I can suggest some different areas...

i love nuremburg and ansbach had beautiful areas---munich was nice but I really loved Nuremburg.

I agree! There is so much to see in Berlin! If you are interested in the history of the Berlin Wall visit Haus am Checkpoint Charlie. It was really worth of visit!

Ha! I just realized I'm going to Mainz, not Mittes. Now I'm really scared since I don't know a lick of German and apparently I can't even understand their english. I broke out the Learn German book today. Whew! What a job.

 

This will be so fun. It looks like I'll be able to spend a few days along the Rhine, riding bikes, winetasting and viewing castles.

I finally finished the pictures. I'll write more about the trip in a day or two. Thank you for all the wonderful tips. Germany is certainly a beautiful country.
