According to some friends of mine who were there about 6 weeks ago, they still do not accept credit cards. Also, generally if you call ahead and make a reservation they pay for your taxi back to the hotel. Generally, they will call for you from guest services.

Thank you for the info! Did your friends mention if the restaurant takes traveler's checks? Also, does anyone know the price range for 2 people? Like said, I really don't want to have that kind of cash on hand....

They paid cash, so I can't be certain about the traveler's check. My guess would be no. Most hotels don't even cash traveler's checks in Punta Cana. You might find that some representatives that sell tours can accept them, but that is pretty much it.

I think it just really depends on what the both you order and if you have a drink or two per person. If you both order Lobster of the House its $47 USD a per person. Okay sorry my post is so long but I could not get the word doc to post. The only thing I cut out was the beer prices and the kids meals. I hope this helps

The information and pictures you have all provided are amazing and I am set on getting married and have a reception here! I am still trying to figure out what resorts are close by. I know the melia caribe and paradisus palma real any other that you may know of?

 

Also, if I do this how do I arrange for flowers and a cake, does Mayte do that? I have emailed her and she responded very quickly. I just thought I would ask here first.

Could somebody PM me the price list I couldn't open it b/c i'm considered a newbie still. FYI- I saw the brochure on the website so i got the food and drink prices I just want to know the ceremony, decorations, flowers, cake, etc prices. Thanks you so much.

I'm sure youve been on the website, but if you go to http://www.jellyfishrestaurant.com/gethere.html There is a map on their site that shows the hotels on either side. We are staying at the Majestic Colonial and it is about a 25 min bus ride to the Jellyfish. They organize a bus to come get you for $5 per person, roundtrip!

I'm not sure about the cake. I think she gets you in contact with someone and they do the cake. Some hotels may give you a cake as part of your wedding package if you are paying for that still. Then you can arrange transport. There are a lot of desserts on the menu so we aren't doing a wedding cake. For flowers, you can send her pics of what you like and their decorator will arrange it. These are not included in their decorating fee at all. The decorator will use fake flowers for the decor as part of her fee. I think it will be similiar pricing to the hotel flowers.

I'm so excited at getting married here!! It's so beautiful!

I had never gone down to the bottom of the website so I hadn't seen that before. I have been in contact with Mayte and she said she could help with the cake and flowers, but I am thinking of doing fake flowers and bringing them and for the cake I am still not sure.

The price list for the meals? Or for the wedding stuff? Meals is up above, wedding stuff I think I have in my email, it's got pics and stuff so if it's that you're after- use the send email link and send me a message, and I'll share it.
