I take back the statement about the Ferry. As of March the supreme court has banned the ferries from operating because of environmental acts. Flights are pretty reasonable though. I think Hawaiian Air may have gone under too though?? Def do your research.

Kauai is by far my favorite island. It's lush, green, quiet, beautiful water...everything you would expect out of a Hawaii vacation. The Big Island is beautiful too. It's HUGE! The volvanco is spectucular...if you've got the funds and spirit I highly recommend the helicoptor tour. In the winter you can even ski there.

Oahu is grogeous, don't get me wrong. Especially the North Shore. But it is crowded and touristy. The good thing is whatever you want to do you can find it on Oahu.

ok it would be $88 to fly from honolulu to kauai. Do you have to get to the airport way in advance & do all the security that you do on regular flight? Or is a more laid back process?

No unfortunetly it's the same. But you usually take less so that makes the process a little faster!

Just noticed you are living in NC. Nice! That's where my finance and I are from. Just up in Vancouver temp.

what part are you from? I'm in Durham. I love it here. we always planned to move back to texas but we are too attached to NC now.
