We found out about a week before our wedding that my DH's grandma was going to wear a white dress. My DH freaked out and called immediately and told her no way no how. I really didn't care but he did. I would tell your Dh to take care of it. That is just common knowledge you don't wear white to someone elses wedding even if you are the MOTG.

how did you find out? are they the kind of family who do practical jokes? like just to see if you freak and then they all laugh about it? (ok not so funny, but i do know people like this)

it's pretty widely known etiquette that no one but the bride wears white (unless you're doing an all-white wedding, which looks awesome). i wouldn't have cared if my mom wore white but i certainly wouldn't have wanted other guests whispering about what a faux-pas she had made behind her back either, KWIM?

if you're really bothered by it have your FI talk to her and tell her it bothers HIM.

Definitely let your FI handle this! It's his mother, so he needs to let her know that is not ok! Why does she want to wear white? You could suggest that she wear the same color as your bridal party. This may make her feel more included and get her out of wearing white. I hope everything works out!
