Four Seasons The Biltmore Santa Barbara

Recommended Posts

I lived in Santa Barbara for 5 years, and LOVE it there. I actually worked at Bacara Resort & Spa (Biltmore's competitor). They are both beautiful resorts (but pricy...) so let me know if you have any q's about the resorts or area and I will try my best to answer.

I emailed them and they would prefer brides contact them directly for pricing, but here is some info if you want to do a site visit:

Also- you can find more contact info on their website California Resorts : Bacara Resort & Spa - Santa Barbara - you can put an inquiry and one of the wedding coordinators should be back to you pretty quickly. Keep in mind that this isn't all-inclusive as it is in the US - so prices are going to be a la carte for the specific options you choose - ceremony location, reception location, food, flowers, cake. Also-the pastery chef there is incredible.. best cakes ever! The grounds are beautiful and amazing views of the pacific ocean. Keep in mind it is more secluded than the Four Seasons as it is actually about 15 min north of downtown Santa Barbara, although this also makes it more private..

I worked in the Spa, and if you are traveling to Santa Barbara - a Spa day there is a MUST. You don't have to be a guest at the resort to to to the spa, and is a really fun activity esp with your bm's or moms because there is a spa pool, jacuzzi, steam room, spa cafe (as well as 3 other restaurants), salon... I could go on all day, love the Spa... You can download the Spa menu on their website and it has prices. ahh..I need a massage :) Feel free to pm me if you have any specific questions and I will try to answer/find the answer. We actually considered moving our wedding to SB as Mexico might not work out.. although it just wasn't within our $10k budget

PREPARING FOR YOUR ARRIVAL

Bacara Resort & Spa is nestled on the Gaviota coast between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains on a 78-acre coastal bluff unique to California. Due to our coastal location, we experience wonderful, mild weather year round with average daily temperatures ranging between 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit. While this is convenient for engaging in daytime activities, we often have cool nights and do occasionally have mornings with overcast skies, known as the Marine Layer. When packing for a trip to Bacara, it is always recommended that you plan on layering your clothing. We have put together the following list to assist you in packing all of the necessary items. Please remember to plan ahead if you are arriving to the area by plane or train, as arranging transportation to the Resort will be necessary. For those who will be traveling in GPS equipped vehicles, Bacara’s coordinates are: Latitude 34.432491 Longitude -119.908750. Remember that regardless of how you arrive, getting here will be well worth the trip.

Hi guys. I actually just got back from Santa Barbara - it was meant to be a get away for FI and I since our wedding was suppose to happen this past week in Mexico, but got canceled due to swine flu. Of course right when we arrived in SB the fires began to get out of control - it was pretty intense and sad since 80 homes got burnt. Its weird cuz i went to UCSB and in the 4 years i was there we had no fires and now there have been 3 in the past year.

Anywho we also went to look at the Biltmore to have our now postponed wedding and the place is really beautiful - Im pretty sure we will have our wedding there at the end of June :)

Hannah - we tried to set up an appointment at the Bacara but no one got back to us - I may have to PM you to get more info

BTW what year did you UCSB alums graduate? i graduated in 2003

Tammy - we have decided to go with the Four Seasons Biltmore :) My new wedding day is now June 19th. They told us we get the wedding night free and any additional nights we choose to stay is 20% off - Id love to hear what you negotiated.

When is your sister getting married there?

The Ocean view from the Mariposa Garden (where i had my ceremony) is lawn raised - its on grass. Although there is a road in front you definitely dont notice it or hear any traffic since the garden is pretty secluded

In my slide show in my siggy you can look at pictures from the ceremony
