Heather - that would be so mean if she did that to make you lose weight. My guess is, she doesn't really know how to buy you clothes. Maybe let her know some of your favorite stores and she'll get the hint that she's shopping in the wrong places. It's nice that she does that for you though! cheesy.gif

I don't even remember the last time I shopped in a "regular" store except for shoes or accessories! lol It sucks, but I deal with it. At least that are alot more places to shop now for the younger girls. Let me tell you, it wasn't fun not being able to wear all the "cool" clothes of the time. grrrrrrrrrrr!! ANYWAY! lol

I think you're right Lisa, that she just doesn't know how to shop for me. I'd like to think that her intentions are good and she's not being mean about it anyway. But hopefully if I can stick with going to the gym regularly and watching what I eat, this won't be a problem anymore :)

I went to the gym again last night, so it's been almost 2 weeks straight that I have went every other day. I'm trying to hold off on weighing myself until the end of this week and see how I did. I'll keep you guys posted!

aww heather i'm sure she just has no idea that the stuff she's buying is too small. and you're right if she's that tiny an XL will look big to her.

or it could be that she loves you, and because of that, is just blind to how big you are. when i've told friends my size or weight they always seem absolutely shocked. or if i show an old *really* fat pic of me, no one can ever seem to remember me looking that way. i think it's just what happens when you actually see someone for what they are inside instead ... you stop noticing the flaws altogether when you see the good in a person. hug2.gif

[but damn it would be nice to shop in a normal store again!]

It is true, people truley don't know our size. Even when a plus size girl tells me her weight, I say "no way! Really?!" because you just can't tell.

I've come to grips that I am a 2XL and its obvious. People know Im large. It's no secret. So if this were me, I'd flat out say, "I'm flattered that you think I'm L, XL, (fill in the blank), but to be honest, I can't fit the clothes you've bought me. I think they are beautiful and you have great taste, but in the future, if you buy anything else, can you go to . . . and get a size . . .?" That size at that store fits me perfect and I always love what they have."

FYI, I don't know if you girls have Ricki's, but they sell beautiful tops (business, evening out) in a 2XL. Mind you, their pants only go to 18 sad.gif

Hey Ladies

Just found this thread. I would call myself curvy, but I'm not into stores lie Lane Bryant. I normally shop at Old Navy, Target, Cloud 9, H&M and Delias, then i do Sears and JCPenney's for dresses. I wear between a size 12-14 however I wear a 36DDD and I have a big butt, tummy and big thighs... Shopping for me is a big mess. I'm so glad I found this thread, now I don't feel alone.
