I just joined earlier this year and was so overwhelmed by the number of resorts out there. It's good you've got it narrowed down to Punta Cana. I actually decided on Paradisus Punta Cana. There have been some really good reviews on here, the price is around what i was hoping for, and the gazebo is gorgeous - which is imp for me cuz we're getting married in August - HURRICANE SEASON!!!

 

There are toooons of threads on the other resorts too, so i'm sure you'll find lots of info to make the right choice for you and your FI.

I'm from Red Deer too!! Small world...

 

And we're a year (minus a day) off from our wedding dates. We're getting married on October 16, 2009 in the Mayan Riviera.
