Undergarment for small "chest"? Help

Recommended Posts

OK. I have looked at all (I think) of the threads pertaining to this but have a specific question. I am stressing about which undergarment would best enhance my small not as perky as should be b cups in a strapless dress. Here is the dress link David's Bridal - Chiffon A-line gown with split front skirt, satin cuff neckline and empire waist.

A strapless padded bra kept falling, not good support so option is out.

I am debating between a strapless slip or a white bustier because these stay up and are pretty padded. The strapless slip I felt crinkles up too much and would be hot. And the bustier is thick and will show one line, but both of these options DO enhance the size and sagginess of the breast.

I don't think I need anything except what best enhances the boobs because the dress isn't see through and I have been working out like a fiend (woo hoo) so not too many bulges an and planning on wearing spanx too maybe.

I am wondering about sewing cupshuh.gif? Would that support as much as these two options? Or would it not really stay up as well? My dress is being altered as we speak and I don't get it back for a whole month so I can't try things on with it.

Has anyone who needs "more" done this and has it stayed up as well as a padded undergarment? I would just hate to get it done and it not look good because I will be getting the dress only two weeks before the wedding but it would be awesome if I could do without the slip or the bustier.

Thanks for any input. I LOVE this forum. No body else really understands...LOL.

I went for my first fitting last week and I've never been "felt up" so much in my life as when the seamstress was trying to figure out how to boost me and the dress. Unfortunately, if you want a "boost," the only thing that will do that is something with some sort of underwire, I don't think just cups will do it. The mystere line of bras has a great seamless full bra bustier that boosts you not matter what your size, lays nice and doesn't show under dress. My sister used one for her wedding and it worked great.

For myself, I'm either using my sister's bra or seeing if the boning the seamstress is adding to the dress along with double cups works (one cup laying normally and another folded in half at the bottom).

Good luck!

I had a backless, spaghetti strap dress and I have A not perky boobs. My dress was very thin and showed every wrinkle. I ended up having cups tacked into the dress and using double sided tape on the inside of the cups, to my skin to make sure they stayed in place. They weren't really my boobs, but no one could tell the difference.

  • 4 years later...

I'm having cups sewn in as I'm a small A cup & my dress has a low back. I seriously considered the nu-bra until I read that it doesn't react well with sweat, and Me+Mexico+wedding dress= lotsa sweat... The last thing I need is fake titty's falling out of the bottom of my dress!
