Casa Magna in Cancun Anyone!?

Recommended Posts

Hello! I was wondering if anyone else is thinking about this resort or has gotten married at here!? If you have any photos or can share your experience I would greatly appreciate it! I am simply in love with their gazebo but when looking at their wedding packages and pricing I was a little turnned off. Especially since they charge $1,000 for judges services. Does anyone know if I bring my own judge, haha I know that sounds silly but she's a family friend.

I have also noticed that in pretty much every resorts wedding package it states one glass of sparkling wine to toast. And usually never mentions dinner or a private/semi private after function if they do you have to pay for it. Does anyone know if ALL my guests are staying at the same resort we get married at if there are different conditions since everything would be all inclusive anyway? (Not sure if this is a silly question or not!?) Thanks in advance!

:)

Hi Alix,

While I haven't chose Casa Magna for my wedding, i will tell you that it is a beautiful hotel. I am a flight attendant and this is the hotel that we lay over at while in Cancun...let me see if I can dig up some pic, I have been on maternity leave for over a year so it has been a while since I have been there.

As far as pricing goes, you may want to check out the palace resorts, they are very reasonably priced even for private functions. My wedding date is about a month before you, so I am sure that you know it is very hard getting any pricing this far out, but the palace resorts seem pretty consistent with pricing.

Thanks Tanya! Yes although I know places don't have 2010 pricing out until this summer I figured I could at least get an idea of what they would be like! Which resort did you choose? I originally wanted Playacar Palace but when I looked at the pricing to stay at the resort for my guests and I was looking to hopefully stay around $1250 per person so that more could attend. I was also really looking for a gazebo to get married in! I will be having about 50-75 guest. Are all of your guests staying at the resort you're getting married at?

I am not sure yet, I am going at the end of June to visit some places, but I am leaning toward the Playacar Palace. I think that we will be able to neg. a group rate at a better price than what is published on the web. Don't you? I have about 75-80 people also, which is a lot. They def don't have a gazebo though, they have a wedding terrace if PM me your email address, I can send you the pics that the WC has sent to me.

I'm getting married in Casa Magna Marriott in late June, and we´ll take a trip to Cancun this weekend to take care of some details. Our wedding ceremony is a Catholic one in the Gazebo, and we´ll bring our own Father. I'm not sure about civil wedding though, but feel free to check with the hotel! They're very nice! ... We'll also have 70-80 guests for the dinner reception in an outdoor area in the hotel - the only down side is that we can only stay till 10pm due to noise control. Well, party elsewhere!
