photo book as "guest book"

just wanted to share what i'm using for my "guest book"

 

i rounded up a bunch of generic photos of cancun and of our wedding resort (dreams cancun) and made an 8x8 photo book on shutterfly. the guests can sign in the margins around the pics, sort of like how you'd sign someone's school yearbook. i figure i only have 32 guests, so they don't need a lot of room to sign. (i know it's not too original, i've seen this done before with pics of the couple, but we really didn't have enough of those available, as we didn't take engagement pics. if you're in the same boat, and like the photo book idea, this is an alternative)!

it cost me about $25, and i don't have it in my possession yet to be able to comment on quality. a cheaper alternative would be to print pics yourself and just scrapbook them, leaving plenty of space for signing around them!

some from stock photography sites that i can access at work, but most from doing searches on flickr ... a lot of photos there are protected, but many are available for download ... just make sure you click on "all sizes" at the top, and then download the largest size available, otherwise the resolution will likely be only good enough for screen, not print.

OMG That is the exact same thing I did for our AHR - only I used our DW pics! I love shutterfly - they always do such a good job - and I always get my stuff super fast too! That is such a great idea too!!

i mostly chose to do this because i wanted to check out the quality of their books for when i do my actual wedding album and gift albums. if i like the quality and it works out well as a guest book, it will definitely be what i do for our AHR (but with actual DW pics!).

didn't receive it yet, but i placed the order at night on 4/17, and got an email saying the order has been shipped on 4/21, saying it's estimated to arrive between 4/24 and 4/29. so, i'd say about a week and a half, two weeks tops?
