Customs in Mexico : an effort to gather the info in one thread !

I Brought 24 Maraccas TO Mexico with me...They were our place Settings for each person. I didn't get any problems with that. We brought a couple back with us, but everyone had one or more by then

Just got back April 15th. NO problemo's. I even had 20 starfish. I did take my USA receipt for those. I used them at our AHR when we got back.

How were you able to pack the starfish without them breaking? I was thinking of doing starfish for wedding favors, bubble wrapping them and putting them in tupperware containers.

I just bubble wrapped mine with a rubber band and they did fine

This is an awesome thread, so informative. Have a million starfish---OMG....didn't really think of all this. Saving all reciepts.

Did everyone have to put their bags thru the new scanners? My fiance and I just went down for a wedding Memorial Day weekend and Customs now has X ray machine scanners to see exactly what is in your luggage upon arrival.

That kind of made me nervous for when we go for our wedding.

Why would that scare you; there is a good chance they go through your luggage thoroughly anyway. As long as you have your receipts then you should be fine.

We didn't have problems with customs...we didn't get the red light. I really lucked out by not doing the receipts (just didn't have time to create fake ones!)

I guess it's always stressful to go through customs... but if you have receipts for everything, there's no reason to be nervous.
