And there is always the option of finding a dirt-cheap dress just for the TTD session. I just got a dress on ebay for $75, making me another 3 DRESS BRIDE (I also have a regular gown for the ceremony, and a shorter dress for the reception)! I thought it was worth it to avoid any drama over trashing my real dress!

Good luck!
HAHAHA! Well since I am a member of the 4 dress (and a reception dress) club my self thats not really an option censored.gif I kinda already went that rout and now am trying to sell 3 so I don't totally ruin our wedding budget!

Also my FI said if I bought one more we weren't going to have a wedding (in a J/K manner of course) I could probably squeeze 1 more in but who wants to push itfryingpan.gif <- that is what I need apparently!

But Yes I agree thats a very good Idea

I bought a secondhand Maggie, satin with chiffon overlay. It hadn't been drycleaned so there was dirt around the bottom & train and some bronzer around the inside bodice that needed to be removed. I didn't trust that a drycleaning would get it all out so I cleaned it myself.

I just used arm & hammer laundry detergent and a soft eyebrow brush to clean spot clean and rinse. Then I filled the tub with cool water and a bit of detergent and dunked the whole dress in, swished it around then rinsed a couple times, squeezed the excess water out. Let it dry flat on some towels to get more water out, so it wasn't too heavy. Then finally hung it to dry in the basement for a day and it looks better than new and smells fresh :) and... no water marks.

Not sure I'd try this with lace or silk though.

I am a member of the 4 dress bride club, so I guess which ever I trash it won't really matter...but I hear you on not wanting to completely ruin the ceremony dress!

I bought a second dress for the TTD, its chiffon, so I thought it would look really pretty. However, as far as the two weeks thing goes, I was planning on asking one of my BMs to bring my ceremony dress back with her instead of hauling it to our honeymoon.

Maybe if there's someone you trust to bring your dress back and take it to the cleaners, it wouldn't need to sit around for two weeks!

I would be careful with taffeta dresses. My bridal consultant told me to even make sure it's steamed inside out or it could stain. I would call a dry cleaner or go and ask at one to see what they think. I'm sure any larger dry cleaner would have some experience with taffeta or silk dresses.

I'm hoping that the wonderful crew on this forum can help me out with a brainstorming endeavor. My photographer has never been to Jamaica and I was only there for 3 days in January. We are trying to come up with ideas of where we can do a TTD session the morning after our wedding (a Saturday morning). I know that I have seen posts mentioning the resort itself and Dunn's River. I'm trying to think of other places that my photographer could consider/scout. She is coming down a couple days in advance so she can scout out the resort for the wedding photos as well as ideas for the TTD. Does anyone have any ideas of locations off-resort near Montego Bay that might make good locations.

I am having the same issues, but I am looking for a place in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I hear there are some great local beaches, and Coyaba Gardens, but I am still up in the air. My photographer won't have time to scout the area, as they arriving the day before the wedding and leaving early Sunday..

Hi, Well I have decided to TTD and we are going to Dunns River to do this. Just a question to all you ladies that have done this. Did you travel in your dress or did you take it with you and change there ? did you do this the day of your wedding or the day after ?

I did mine at Mayfielf Falls, we stayed in Negril the second week. i traveled with it on, we stoped at different places along the way (it is a 1hr drive there). But Dunns is not that far from ROR but you can always stop if the photographer is traveling with you and you want to. I took a change of cloths so I could change after.

I did the TTD at Dunns. After starting it in the Ocean that same morning. We did the beach ones at 5:30 am and Dunns didn't open until 8. By 7:40 when we were getting in a cab my dress was almost dry (but we brought a towel and a plastic bag just in case I was wet.) But I dried out pretty good. I even wore the dress home from Dunns without soaking everything.

When we got to Dunns for 8am there was not anyone there. when we were leaving there were tons of people just starting to walk down to the falls. I got some looks but it was fine!
