Well, I "registered" with David's back in January and the calls and emails began immediately. Men's Warehouse was the worst calling daily but I finally answered and told them we already had attire for the groom and then they stopped. The calls went strong thru February, tappered off in March and have stopped all together in April. The only remaining contact is MJS Photography who emails me once or twice a week, but the email don't bother me as much, its easy to hit the delete button.

I tried on a size 4 dress when I went there and the consultant told me I should order a 0 which they didnt have in stock. So based on her recommendation, I ordered and paid for the 0. When I got it, I found it was really tight. There is no way to make the dress any bigger...and they told me they dont do returns. Arrrr...ok, Im done complaining about Davids. To anyone who reads this, I dont recommend them!
FYI...They don't do returns, but they do exchanges.
I know this because after my dress came in, I decided it wasn't what I wanted and I took it back and got a different dress. The dress was less then what I paid and since they don't do Cash back..I got a slip, a Veil and jewlrey to make up the difference.
Hope this helps :-)

Also...YES..I have had the same problem...I get phone calls the most :-( So Annoying

They don't HAVE to do an exchange, they actually state on their receipts that they don't returns or exchanges, but often will exchange

WOW girls i'm really sorry to hear this happening to you! I bought my 1st dress at DB and 2 BM dresses & my moms dress and haven't had ANY of that! i am registered w/ db.com and menswearhouse.com so I get promos for them in my email, but thats it. I don't get any calls or anything.

FBIL is a cop and he gave us a small tip we use occasionally. If someone keeps calling you and you want them to stop you just answer the phone as your local police station. For example we would answer "Missoula County Police Department, how can I direct your call?" They will probably hang up, but they are supposed to automatically remove you from the list of numbers to call. It may not work for like a Mary kay consultant, but a company can no longer call your number

It was very unprofessional from them to do so. Better shops do this via sweepstakes(eg. sign your name for a chance to win this and that, but we reserve the right to sell your info to our affiliates)

In Canada, our government recently created a "Do Not Call List". We just go the website and put our phone number on that list. And it is illegal to call anyone on that list. I am not sure, but check of you have something similar in your state.

Since I got on that list, I barely receive any of those telemarketing calls. Used to get up to 5 a day!!

I refused to give my personal information when I went to Davids Bridal to shop just for this very reason. The woman became snippy with me, but they still helped me. I didn't end buying a dress from there because their service was poor and I didn't feel like a princess.

EEW, YUCK, RIGHT?! I have been dealing with the very same nonsense....I want to scream, "leave me alone, you badgers!"

Multiple mailings everyday, countless unsolicited emails, but only one or two phone calls from David's Bridal themselves to tell me I won some sort of bridal make-up party or something. I just delete the emails and recycle the mailings, and go on about the day, trying not to be annoyed, but it's sooo not hard not to be at least a little!

That's funny...I saw on a review online when I looked up their phone number and someone had experienced what you're talking about. So, when I went in to try on dresses I refused to give them more than my name. They were really cranky about it, like they wouldn't let me try on dresses unless I filled out the little card. I simply explained that I had heard they shared information and did not want that to happen to me. The assured me they do not.....

I still refused to fill out the card and they did let me try on a some dresses but the fitting specialist made no recommendations, had no suggestions and put me in a small room away from the long mirrors-even though they were really slow.

Needless to say even though they have a huge in-stock selection, better than anywhere else I shoped I wouldn't have walked out of there with a dress if they had paid me to. I was so unimpressed with the entire experience and I'm really glad I didn't give them my info.

I hope your post will keep other brides from having to go through what you are!

I just put a fake phone number on the slip, but it was close to my real number so if I did buy a dress there I could just "fix" the number. Fortunately I didn't get a dress so they don't have that info but I do get a lot of mails and a few calls from a bridal show I went to. Some of the prizes were so good I wanted to put my real number. :) Of course the one I actually won I couldn't use. *sigh*
