**Dreams VILLAMAGNA- Post Info Here!**

Recommended Posts

I just got a copy of the current entertainment and activities schedule. If anyone wants to see it, I can email it to you. Looks like they have lots of activities going on at the resort on a daily basis.

Also, some of the reviews said there was no AC in the restaurants - in fact, there is AC in all of them.

Hi ladies! I haven't been on here in a while, but wanted to check with some of you. Are any of you doing a symbolic ceremony? We are legalizing it here the week before we leave and just doing a symbolic ceremony so we don't have to deal with all the leagl stuff in Mexico. But now I'm all worried that I won't be able to have the ceremony in English and that I won't be able to personalize it. I've asked Yolanda before but never really got a response. Does anyone have any idea?

We are also getting married here before we go down. Since nothing legal needs to take place, we've asked a friend to preside over the ceremony. I wrote the whole thing, so it is very personal. I think it will be best to have him do it so we know what we are getting : )

Sandy, I would love to see the activities schedule. I also love the idea of ordering some champagne to do a toast the night we arrive on the rooftop lounge. Fantastic! my personal email is taverhasselt at yahoo.com Thanks!! - Trisha

Hello ladies. It's official! After going back and forth between a million locations/venues, I am not a DD bride getting married at the Dreams VM in February 2010!!! I am so excited to have this all finally in motion. As for gripes, I cannot believe they charge a $1000 fee just for using an outside consultant and vendors. But I love how beautiful the structures and rooms look. We stayed at Dreams PV in April and from the pictures, VM looks superior. I hope that is the case. I will provide planning details soon and hopefully it will be helpful, because so many of you have been so very helpful to me. I am sure I will also seek tons of advice. ciao for now!

Congrats and welcome to the club! Do you have any photos of the wedding structure? They were still building it when I was there back in Feb. Although I'm not getting married there, i am staying there for a week with my wedding guests.

You will not be disappointed. The grounds are lovely!

Cheers, Trisha

Not of the wedding structure, sorry. In fact, many of the pics I saw were from internet research I conducted (but not of weddings). I should have saved them! I hope those getting married there this year will share photos! A good weekend to all! woot.gif

We are getting married here first and having the symbolic ceremony there. I haven't even thought to ask about the officiant's language, but I would hope he/she can speak english. I am off to send Yolanda an email now...

What package is everyone going with? I decided on the Ultimate. Yolanda sent me pics of gazebos to choose from but I didn't think decorations were included in the Ultimate price, with the exception of a centerpiece on the ceremony table and white chair covers and a runner...these pics are more decorated and they have prices?

Also wondering if anyone has signed a contract yet? I have read on here about other Dreams brides having a contract.....my wedding is at the end of Oct and I haven't seen one.....just wondering if I should be concerned.

Hello Ladies. I am sure you all know this, but here is the not so well-known scoop (at least to me) re the Dreams VM. It does not matter to me, as all of the positives outweigh any potentially negative impact this may have. So here it is:

1. No swim up bar.

2. Apparently, no drinks in the pool - period.

3. Most publicity photos emphasize the private condos and not the actual hotel, as the condos have preference over proximity to the ocean and, accordingly, the views.

4. Shade is a big problem. I stayed at the Dreams PV in April and it had one umbrella/palapa setup for each 2 beach-recliners. And there were several. And I mean severa - no matter what time of day we went, we always found a spot. VM apparently has very few at the beach and the palm trees have not matured to the point of providing enough shade (and people say there are not enough palm trees even if they do mature).

The foregoing notwithstanding, there are many more positives than the negatives. I simply want to post these points in case they are important to you, so you make an informed decision. I am still incredibly excited and can't wait to stay, get married, and celebrate at Dreams VM!

If any of you has additional details or have facts to refute these points (and I hope you do), i am all ears!

Thank you!!!

Hello again ladies!

Armnat- I have heard all of those things, I for one am perfectly okay with all of them. The shade thing might become an issue, but otherwise none of the other things really affect me.

I wanted to let you all know that I received an email from Yolanda with a ppt of the arbors/structures that you can get married under. If anyone wants to see them PM me and I'll send them to you.

I get married 3 weeks from today, so I will hopefully have a good review for all of you when I get back.
