Yep, I had invisilyn and they worked. You HAVE to wear them though or it won't work. At the very end when my invisilyn sets were done, I did have to wear clear braces to adjust one tooth that was stuck behind my front tooth, and I tbh, never heard of anyone else needing to do that. I think it had to do with my teeth and maybe me being too anal ;o} I am done though and very happy. A girl at the hair salon I go to also just got them and I can see a diff already in her teeth.

 

On a side note, my one good friend went to get them for a minor tooth adjustment (she had a space or something) Her ortho made her a retainer she wears only at night to fix it and it is working. It depends on how drastic it is but maybe look into that too. Good luck!

I am a Level II Dental Assistant and I have never heard of them! Althoguh American dentistry is ahead of our times LOL

I have some minor straightening that needs to be done also, and my dentist, who happens to be a close friend of mine, said I should get braces. She says Invisalign is like staking a tree, meaning that the root of the tooth doesn't move much at all, but the tooth will "lean" (straighten). Plus, she said I can be in and out of my braces in 6 months, where the Invisalign will take longer. I will have a retainer to wear at night after the braces come off (which will be damn sexy I'm sure ). I'm not super excited to have braces in my early 30's....but I am excited to have straight teeth for my wedding!

I just started invisilign a few months ago. I'm on my 5th set of trays, so I don't see any results yet. I have to get more of the slenderizing done since I have crowding. It's when they shave off a tiny bit of your tooth to create room for them to move. I have to admit, I hate it so far. Mostly because of the slenderizing. I have had it done twice on the top so far, and still need to do the bottom. It makes these horrible gaps that apparently will close up at some point, but look awful right now. The trays are tight for the first day or two, and can be painful to take out if you get the attachments like I had to. On the plus side, you have to wear them constantly, and you need to brush, floss, mouthwash, and brush they trays after every meal. It's so not worth the hassle so I find myself avoiding snacks all together. So I have dropped a few pounds thanks to invisilign.

I am doing "Express Invisalign" which means you get 10 and only 10 trays (versus unlimited) but after insurance cost $2200 out of pocket vs $5200. So far after 5 trays at 3 weeks per tray I LOVE the results and can already can see a major difference... I have pretty bad crowding and one front tooth that was crooked, already for only being halfway they have gotten a lot straighter. I also agree with the comment that you avoid snacks because it is kind of a pain to clean, floss, etc. One thing to mention though, you might have to get little white attachments on your teeth (barely noticeable) but they act like "hitches" to move the teeth...I was a little self conscious at first but nobody will notice.

I just finished Invisalign and loved it!! I was one of those bad teenagers who did not wear her retainer and my space between the two front teeth opened up over the years. Invisalign corrected that in 6 months. Now I wear a retainer at night!

I am using Invsialign now. I started them way too late for them to be completed before my wedding, but I saw some movement before the wedding (after 3 trays - worn for two weeks each). Actually people who have seen my pictures have even noticed. I wore braces as a teen and then my wisdom teeth came in and made a mess of my teeth, particularly the bottom. I have been happy with them. They are a bit tight the first couple of days when you change trays. But, I have gotten in the habit of changing them at night and I take an Advil when I change them, and that seems to help. When I first got them they were annoying to get off the attachments...but I finally have a trick to it and they come off without too much trouble. I have cut down on my snacking, and I'm drinking more water, since I can drink water and leave them in. Based on the results I've seen thus far, I've been happy with them.

Hey Jacquelin, Thanks for all of the info. How long did you wear the invisaline? DO you still have it.......heard it might be a forever thing.

Thanks for the info Jamaicabride, your teeth look really beautful from your picture! Thanks for the modivation. I hope my insurance pays for some of it.
