Who loves to Read???

I LOVE to read (although it seems like any spare time I have now I "get to" read surgical books...) and am reading "Chasing Harry Winston" by Lauren Weisberger. Since I loved "The Devil Wears Prada", I was stoked to read this one...and have not been disappointed. I read about 100 pages yesterday while laying by the pool. It's a fun book about 3 girlfriends and their quest to get married once they realize they are aging. I'd recommend it as a great vacation read, or an excellent book to read while laying on the beach at your DW :)

Reading is an addiction to me. I ALWAYS have a book on the go. I think hubby will get upset sometimes that I read too much and ignore him.. haha!

Right now I'm reading the Anita Blake vampire series (Laurell K Hamilton) but they are starting to piss me off a bit so I may have to put them down for awhile.

Next to read are the Sookie Stackhouse books (Charlaine Harris)

Favourites in no particular order:

Outlander series - Diana Gabaldon

Twilight series - Stephenie Meyer

Assassin Trilogy - Robin Hobb (fantasy author)

Anything by female authors: Kelley Armstrong, Kathy Reichs, Tami Hoag, Kim Harrison

Anything by male authors: Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Greg Iles, Harlan Coben

Single books that really did it for me: Time Traveller's Wife, Memoirs Of A Geisha

I'm sure there are a TON of others I can't think of right now.. I hate that.

Some of the suggestions already in here are good.. can't wait to pick up a couple once my other series' are done :)

I have to agree with a lot of the other posts on here - Emily Griffin is fantastic :) as are all the Sophie Kinsella books - I own a lot of them so if there are any other Edmonton brides on here just let me know and maybe we can set up a trade :)

I have finished Love the one your with and something borrowed - both were really great reads - and I have started Something Blue which is good so far, it follows the something borrowed book so I would read that one first :)

Hope that helps!

I decided to re-read The Time Travelers Wife after reading this thread...still one of my favorite books! The movie is coming out on August 14th and I can't wait.

I just ordered the 3 Emily Griffin books that everyone is mentioning while we are away at our DW...NEXT WEEK!!

The Eily Giffin books are some of my faves! Enjoy them :)

I just got the new Janet Evanovich and am so excited to chill by the pool and read it this weekend! The grandma always makes me laugh out loud. Check out any of Janet's books for a fun, light, summer read.

I love to read but I'm lean more toward the fantasy/fiction genre.

Maxx Barry has the funniest writing style. His books are fiction. Called Sugar, The Company and Jennifer Government. I've never laughed so hard reading. They are a satirical look at marking, corporate life and other ridiculous institutions.

For the fantasy genre I love David Eddings (Belgariad and Mallorean series), J.K.Rowling (Harry Potter), Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman (Dragonlance Chronicals and Legends).

I grew up being read to every night and now love falling asleep to audio books on CD. I have all 10 of the David Eddings books as well as all 7 of the J.K. Rowling books on CD and the FI and I turn them on as we're getting ready to fall asleep. It usually takes 15 minutes and I'm out! We also love to listen to books on the drive to our backpacking trips. We usually have to spend 4+ hours in the car to get to the trail head and it makes the time fly!
