I've been to Cuba. And I'm an American Citizen.

It was possible before, and then one of our former presidents tightened restrictions. The current president has only just rolled back the restrictions to what they were 8 years ago.

Cuba is a magical, amazing place. The rest of the world can easily and freely visit, but for most Americans, it is nearly impossible.

I don't feel comfortable posting info about traveling to Cuba on such a public thread, but if you are interested in a legal way, Feel free to contact me directly.

Cheers,

E

I think in 5-10 years, It's going to happen and US will lift the embargo.

I think when it happens, Cuba's economy will go up considerably. Vacation prices will also be much higher as the demand for Cuban vacations will be enormous!

A lot of people there are waiting for it to happen. They see us with fancy cameras and laptops and they can't even get those anywhere, unless they get it illegally. Hotel and government workers are some of the highest paid positions. The rest of the folks earn as little as $30/month. Sometimes they have to save for 4-5 months just to buy a pair of nice shoes, which cost $50-100.

My fiance and I took our first trip together to Cuba in Jan 08'. We LOVED it and are going back for our honeymoon after our wedding in Cozumel.

We are from the US, but it is quite simple to travel to Cuba. We may be braver than others, but really its soooo easy! All you have to do is fly to Cancun, buy a ticket to Cuba there and you're set. As long as they dont stamp your passport you are in the clear. They will give you a small piece of paper to put inside your passport, thats all.

If you have the chance... GO TO CUBA! We have traveled to many places and Cuba still holds a very special place in my <3... it is wonderful!

I selfishly hope that the ban isn't lifted before our honeymoon... its fun being the only Americans around!

ya as long as you enter cuba through another country other than us your fine.

Also Cuban-Americans are actually allowed to make unlimited trips to Cuba, not just 1 a year. They were previously only allowed to go once every 3 years.

I'm very very excited about this! I'd also like to see Obama lift the trade embargo
