Direct booking vs Agent booking problem

Hi,

 

Our wedding date is getting closer, and people are start looking at airfare. Turns out, someone found excellent deals via travelocity, and basically if you buy the flight + hotel combo, the rate comes out way better. That gives our guests no incentive to book the hotel directly. This ofcourse, impacts our signed contract. I am waiting till Monday where my bride can discuss this with the hotel coordinator, but had any one run into a problem like this?

 

for example:

 

hotel rate 170/night +taxes and fees.

 

travelocity offers:

air fare alone = 562/pp

air + hotel 6 nights = 999/pp

What hotel is this. I'm getting married in Cabo and I trying to get travel arrangements underway.
