Wedding photographer

In resarching wedding packages at resorts, I noticed that a lot of packages only include a few doezen photos of your day. Pictures are probably just as important to me as the ceremony itself. Does anyone know if you can purchase larger packages, or even a private photographer down there. My family has even discussed paying for our family photographer to join us at the wedding. Please let me know what you have done or what you are doing to for the picture situation

Hi Holly,

I think it will depend on your wedding location. I know many people fly in a photographer for their wedding. So ask the resort you are looking at if they allow outside photographers, and find out what the rules are. In most cases, you should be ok to fly in your family photographer.

Thanks for the information. I think the actual game plan would be is to have him and his wife as our guest. Basically we would pay for a three night stay for them, in exchange for our wedding package. He would work one day and enjoy the rest in paradise

I'm sure if he is a guest, you will be fine. :-) Just an FYI, there are rules on how many lenes he can bring with him, I'm sure he probably knows this already, but it might be worth mentioning.

Generally speaking, the resort photographer only spends enough time to do the obligatory photos in the purchased package. If you want really creative photos either hire a local non-resort photographer on fly one down with you who has experience with the whole travel, visa, work permit thing and you will end up with much better photos.

Hello Holly i believe that all depends on your location too but i does not matter if you can not fly your familly photographer you will be able to really good photographer in the area after all they are very familiar with the area and sometimes it can be a little diferent for photographer that they are not just to beach weddings, angles places and all that staff is a little diferent do no hesitate to find more about local photographers.
