I trying to find out if it is necessary for the bride and groom to buy each other gifts for the wedding. If they do what do you get each other since you are spending so much money on the actual wedding

We aren't buying each other gifts, but we decided we are going to make something special for each other. We travel a lot, so I am making this personalized travel guide to all the places we have been with pictures and stories.

FI and I decided to do small gifts. We decided to do a max of $50.

Of course its not NECESSARY, its a matter of whether you want to do it or not as its the thought that counts.

 

We decided not to exchange gifts, we were paying for so much already and we were just so happy to be away with all our friends and family and getting married that we thought everything was perfect as is. Why add in the stress of trying to come up with the perfect gift and spend even more money.

 

That said, I also told my husband not to buy me a gift when I gave birth to my daughter and I found out I was the odd person out, all my friends demanded their husbands buy them "push gifts", so I think maybe gift getting is just not as important to me as it is to some.

We are not doing gifts for each other for us it's all about the wedding. But if it's something important to you then go for it.

A lot of brides on here do budoir photos. I didn't, but now I kinda wish I would've LOL! I think it is totally up to you guys, I gave my DH a sweet little card for him to open on our wedding day and he loved it.

We discussed it and decided we are not giving gifts. We are already spending so much as it is since we are paying for almost everything on our own. There will be so much going on that day and the day already has so much meaning, that I just don't think gifts will add that much. A nice card would mean a lot more if you ask me.

I thought we would just exchange cards, but I actually bought him a nice Bulova watch. I can't think of what I would like.
