People are crazy (i'm learning to live with that) My wedding is a month away and MY own Father hasn't even booked yet!!! And my brother too and brother didn't even get his passport (even when expediting it can take 3-4 weeks) so maybe he's an idiot or maybe he doesn't want to come? who knows- I'm not stressing this thing any more!!!

side note- i think i want tuna for lunch today...not sure why!

(We rented out 2 private villas and every room is filled.) They would have to find their own lodging and find ways to get where they need to be on their own. There also would not be any OOT bags for them. It has always bothered me that people ignore RSVP dates (not just for weddings, but pretty much for everything). I'm not putting up with it.
Yep totally agree with you Kristy... they are on their own! I may run out of somethings on the OOT bags because I have already bought it all and I am not going to worry about running to the store to buy more stuff for the late guests who NEVER RSVP'd!

My brother actually got mad at me when I told him he had to made a decision by a certain date, saying if he wanted to wait until the last minute to get he best deal, he'd wait until the last minute. Never mind the fact that I needed to have a final headcount so there would be enough chairs, cake, champagne, transportation available.

Needless to say he didn't make it to the wedding, but his entire attitude just blew me away. It was a wedding, not a party cruise!

UGH Andi! wtf.gif

We just sent out our formal invites on Tuesday, and put the final RSVP date as April 24th. They all received their STDs very early (can't remember when exactly but like 8-12 months before the wedding), and then we sent out info packets around November of '08 (I think - my concept of time is faltering). On our info packets we put something like "Kindly RSVP asap. Please understand that if you do not RSVP in a timely manner, we may not be able to accommodate you."

We just had one friend book last week who never even RSVP'ed - so weird cause we haven't even seen him in like 4 months! He just decided to hop on the flight with some of our other friends... we're happy to have him of course, but kinda strange... he still hasn't RSVPed but I know his flight is booked because my MOH booked with him! lol!

I think with the economy a lot of people are having to wait until the last minute to see what their finances will be like. Which I understand. However, an RSVP would be nice if you even *think* you're coming. I don't mind if you change it to "No", but please give us an idea! I mean it will cost us around an extra $75-85 a person... if 10 extra people booked without RSVPing that would be nearly a grand that was not budgeted for.

I know at least a few in our group are waiting to see and if they do, will probably book at the last minute...

Maybe people are seeing how cheap the flights are getting right now?? We just booked my hair/makeup artist for R/T DFW to PV for $375 which is a great deal!

People just don't understand all the planning and budgeting. They think just b/c it's a DW that it is a vacation!!!!!!! We've had people talk about crashing our wedding, stating that it is an all inclusive so why can't they just show up...uninvited?!?!??! ARHHH

I have felt your pain. I had people book one week prior. I was baffled. Finally I threw my hands up and was like f'it. It all worked out in the end. Plus, with LC it made it easy to add a few more people. They are so accommodating.
