Is anyone else getting married on blind faith?

Recommended Posts

What I mean is when you have your DW..will that be the first time you've & your FI have been there?

I think it's a good idea to visit first but that'll of course add to our expenses...Are the internet, phone and photos enough for you? Whadda ya think?

DH and I went without being there before. I think a lot of people do this. You just rely on Trip Advisor, people that you know have been there, your TA...and your biggest resources will be BDW!!!

Good Luck & if you can't fit a site visit in the budget I wouldn't worry about it!! Everything will be awesome!!

I have not been to my resort before. Part of why we selected Dreams in Cabo was that they do so many weddings and if I was going to plan my entire wedding via internet and email. I wanted experts.

Then I found this forum and it is working really well for us.

Yup, that's us. We had planned a site visit since we originally picked this May as our date, but long story short...waaaaay too much has happened. We also found out we can bump the voucher we have and use it toward the wedding trip. Just made more sense to save it.

My sister has been, travel agent has been and I live on Trip Advisor. The coordinator has been good about sending photos of the wedding sites on the property as well, so I think we're covered.

We've never been to Mexico, but we both love to travel and have new adventures! What a better time to go somewhere with no expectations to just let it all happen. There is so much info with the internet that I think you can find anything you need about a destination without making a visit. Have fun with your planning!!

My husband yes, but I lived in Bermuda when I was younger so I knew what we were getting into. Timm however, in spite of my assurances, was the big worry wart. He's a bit of a compulsive planner, and likes to have all his ducks in a row, so leaving everything up to outside sources was difficult for him.

But it all worked out, just like I said it would, and I never let him forget it. With such a gorgeous backdrop as the ocean, it's pretty hard not to go well!

FH and I are completely going on blind faith when we chose Chateau de Challain. I had been to France when I was a kid and London when I was a freshman in college for spring break, but FH has never been anywhere in Europe. When he saw pictures of the place, he knew that where he wanted to get married. So we are basing everything on photos and reviews and trusting our WC. We figured you really can't go wrong when Tripadvisor shows 5 stars from every single person who's ever reviewed the place except for 1 person who didn't even stay at the place. I've never seen such consistently high ratings of any place on Tripadvisor!
