Hello everyone, I am sorry to hear about your family troubles sad.gif and I hope everything will work out for the best at the end! I have been to this resort last year, so please feel free to ask me anything about the accomodations.

I don't know if there is a tv you can watch with the whole party, but they have screens they set up outside playing movies- I wonder if they can also connect a regular cable to it so you can watch the game?

I remember that SSG and the lobby has the best bars.

At night, they usually have live music and singing in the lobby, which has a great luxurious feel. A lot of older people love to hang out there.

The beach is very nice, not too deep. I heard and seen the beach ceremonies to be less private, since people take strolls at night. Lets hope people that will be there will be human and walk around without staring or stopping. :) Gazebo, on the other hand, is on the far right of the resort and there is very few people walking in that area.

If you have kids, they will absoluletly love it! There are a lot of activities and games. Every day they will bring you a program with day's schedule.

The restaurants are also all very good with pretty good service. They have about 6 on site, some of them open on select nights, so you will never get tired.

There are always chairs available on the beach.

Thank you all for your help.

Hope this helps.

Darya

So when it says in the complimentary list "use of the gazebo and beach front area" Where exactly do you get at the beach front area? Because you pay for an arch you pay for the guppa and you pay for the wooden frame??

Sorry for yet another rant but the costs of this are just adding up and up and up and Tiara either doesn't answer or gives different answers!!!!
I hear ya. Everything is always an expense. But, now you ladies have me thinking. And I hate giving up on anything. So ... What if we got one of those collapsible tents and replaced the tarp with nice white tulle or flowing material and also wrapped the metal poles in the same material. It would cost about $100 I'm thinking.
Here's a net I just found, but I'm sure we could find something better if we looked ...

And ladies who are down there around the same time, if anyone's interested, we could always share in the costhuh.gif

I am just doing the natural arch. I believe it is under 200.00, I will have to check that one. I refuse to pay 350.00 for the huppa for 20 min service. I am sure they will make it beautiful and with the ocean in the background I think will be nice and beachy. I am keeping it all as simple as I can... that is the point of doing it on an island. The beach and ocean are the decoration in my mind.

Great news folks, did anyone else get an email this morninghuh.gif? The day we have been waiting for has arrived...no not our weddings... but DLR has now got 2 wedding planners!!!!!! I just got a lovely email from her introducing herself and telling me she will answer all my questions later today, HOORAY smile123.gif

Her name is Yanna Guzman and her email is [email protected] if any of you ladies need another contact. I definately think we should share some decorations if possible, and all try to keep the costs down, the proble is bringing the stuff with you, I have a hard time staying under 20kg even when just going for a week never mind getting married lol

I don't think anyone is going with the same colour scheme as me, Hot pink and Black? I don't think having our meal in gazebo is a goer now as if you have to have the silver or gold menu me and the kids would really struggle to find anything we like.

Amy did you say you were going to use the lanterns in the SSG, do the staff at the hotel set everything up for you, as I'd want the lanterns in the gazebo for our wedding and then moved to the SSG for our reception, i just have images of me in a big white dress standing on tables to tie them up lol

Andrea it looks good, do you mind me asking what colour scheme you're havin?

Has anyone heard anything from Bridget I'm dying to hear her review or have I missed it??

Gem I arrive on 30 June and leave on 14 July

As for all you April brides I am sooooo excited for you all, its hard to believe this is your month, I hope you all have a great time and everything goes smoothly, and don't forget to let the rest of us know how it went and send us pictures lol

Have you seen a picture of the natural arch? My head is spinning with all these options and choices, I had thought of the natural arch on the beach too, the thing that scares me is privacy, we were in Punta Cana last year and the amount of people that were just walking right up to the ceremony in their bikinis was terrible, thats why we chose here because the gazebo is quite private, but I always said I wanted to get married on a beach, so part of me thinks I should actually do it on the beach. But I haven't seen any pictures of the beach set up. Does anyone have any pictures?

Hi, girls:)

Maybride, I totally agree with you- that the ocean and the beach are decoration enough for me. I like it simple and I think anything too fancy will take away from the natural beauty of the place. I am thinking about something though...a natural arch sounds good. Do you know if its made of wood?

Sunandsand, I like the arch with the flowy fabric but I think it might be too fancy for me. My colors are turquoise and white.

Hey Lj..thats great that there is another wedding planner!! I hope she is ready for all of our questions, lol:) Oh, and I was actually looking last night for pictures from our resort to see if there are any of a ceremony on the beach...haven't found any, yet. We actually were nervous about the privacy thing, too...but Tiara said she guarantees there will be no tourists bothering us at the reception, but hopefully that is also for the ceremony, as well.
