Great! Thanks girls - feel much better now! Really didnt fancy the idea of planning my wedding through a travel agent and hoping they pass on the correct information to Tiara.... phew!! love this forum so much :) Noemi, when I was in DLR last year it was oscars night and they threw a big party in the ballroom. It is beautiful, the foyer outside it is fabulous and would be ideal for pre dinner drinks, the ballroom is enormous but as you mentioned earlier it can be sectioned off and configured into whatever size/shape you need. Very high ceilings and altogether very grand. The reason I think most people dont choose the ballroom is because it is very much indoors... there is no patio off it or anything so you miss the caribbean air... but that's what you have the rest of the week for! :)

Ladies, for those of you using HDC, I just got a note from them that starting today, Dreams changed their policy on the use of outside photographers.  They will no longer allow outside photographers on their property.  HDC is working with the Dreams management to get those of us who booked their services before the policy change went into effect grandfathered in.  Check your emails for Arnaud's note.

Hey ladies.

Re Booking through Thompson..

I'm from the UK and booked our group of 26 hrough Tmas Cook, who oferd the 'free' wedding. I wa also told that they had to organise everything from their end, and that I should rest assured that I would get everything I have requested. We booked April 2010, and leave on 23rd June 2011, and as you can imagine, I couldnt control the urge to contact Dreams directly. I let Thomas Cook do the actual booking, ie of the gazebo etc but that is were it stopped. Since then, I have arranged the SSg for the reception, the photographer, the minister, the menu, the cocktail hour, the decor and pretty much everything else via email with Yanna (all of which I have printed off and will take).I do think for the sake of losing your free package, it is best you let Thompsons do the initial booking, as you know what British companies are like, Im sorry but theyre not as nice as Americans!!! They say something and they are hell bent on breaking it.. Just get the date confirmed by their wedding/group department and then take over yourself hun..

Re OOT bags..

We have made ours to adhere to the vintage theme and they are brown bags, folded over with a thank you note attached to the outside. Very retro/glam.

The contents are;

sachet of coffee as you can never get Nescafe abroad (hahaha)

some tea bags (just for a bit of humour!)

paracetamol

alka seltza

a mini sewing kit

a small packet of wet wipes (got 4 for £1 from Poundland Brit girls!!)

a small cooler spray (3 for £1 at Homebargains)

lip salve

a clear plastic bag for use in airport-saves people buying one from the machine at £2 a go!

a small coco butter

and samples/sachets of shampoos/shower gels etc that I have saved when theyre free in magazines

Kids OOt bags are;

a resealable gift bag

crayons

colouring in book

story book

arm bands-disney princess for girls spiderman for boys 50p in homebargains!

small boiled sweets in a bag for take off

a blank journal for filling in about their holiday

a disposable waterproof camera

hope this helps girls.xxx

oh my god I cant believe this about HDC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a total deal breaker for me, I want HDC but havent even mentioned this to Tiara yet because I know how busy she is and I figured I could discuss the finer details with her at a later date. Plus I wanted to do a TTD shoot the following day and have them also do the videography on the day. I AM LIVID.
