1.5hrs doesn't seem so bad. My TA said it would take up to 3hrs but the high way wasn't done when she visited last.. certainly an important factor.

Does anybody have any documents regarding the silver, gold or buffet meal?
Did you have any troubles with bugs during your meal?

Thanks again.
Yes it was included with the price of the hotel (from our TA). The highway will only decrease the trip from Santo Domingo; so I was told from the transfer manager at the hotel. It would of been great to fly into La Romana but from the US no one flies direct into in and currently on AA flies there. The meal info I believe is on their website, if not that is one of the first things the WC will send you. And no, no problem with bugs on the beach during dinner.

Hi ladies, and newcomers!

Welcome to the forum, as you can see everyone on here is extremly helpful. Forum has been busy I have a lot to catch up on.

***I'm wondering if we need to bring down our own cake custting utensils or does the resort have those for us to use?

***Also I've been racking my brain for centre pieces...does anyone know if the resort provides anything at all? I'm planning on renting the SSG and figure they must have centre pieces they normally use that would be available in a worst case scenario. I don't want to pay shipping ahead as I will already be shipping the party favors ahead of time.

***Has anyone chosen the fireworks option? or seen it done?

As always, any suggestion/help is appreciated.

Thanks a lot!
I sent you some info...hope it helps.

1. Im also wondering about the cake cutting utensils.

2. In regards to the centerpieces, they charge a lot for those; Im also having my reception at the SSG deck and I was quoted $200 USD per centerpiece (orchids); Considering I will have at least 5 tables, that seemed a little ridiculous for me. So I decided to bring down my own centerpieces; I posted some pics of it on the forum a while back. Lemme kno if you cant find them.

In regards to the fireworks, I have no info on it! They sound nice but a little pricey :)

They had cake cutting utensils down there, nothing special but got the job done.
As for fireworks, Tiara sent be the below picture. Since it was $600 for just a couple of mins I passed as they looked like they didnt go that high and the bonfire was only $120 and lasted an hour.

Are any of you doing the symbolic ceremony instead of the legal ceremony? My TA said it would be a lot cheaper and less hassle, but I wanted to see if anyone has actually gone through the process with the hotel.

I'd rather my family didn't know this wasn't the "real" wedding.

Thanks pinkpetals and dolphinluck for the info on the utensils and the fireworks. As well thanks dolphinluck for the link to the linen suits as well (I know that was a while back already, and I appologise for the delayed thanks).

PInkpetals,

Are you planning on shipping your centre pieces ahead of time? I'm wondering if I'm even going to worry about them. I won't be planning my seating plan until all rsvp's are in anyway but Im thinking I want to do a sweetheart table and maybe 2 couples per table, or 4 tables of 8 I'm not too sure. The SSG tables of 4 don't look too big to begin with, and I was thinking once we have dinner plates, drink water and wine glasses, salad plate...it might get lost amongs all that. Or if I went with 8 per table then the centre piece needs to be substantial enough to hold its own amogst a big table...oh so much to think about. I wish they had hurricane (is that what their called?) those clear vase things and I could just bring down my own candles to put in them, I really just want something that simple, but blue/orange and to make an impact.

Hi Taylorbabe,

Im planning to distribute my centerpieces amongst my guests (I have 40 ppl going in total) to take in their carry-on. I called my airline (Sunwing) and they said it wont be a problem. Im going to wrap them up really well also.
Im planning on doing 8 ppl per table :)

xoxo

Dear Pink_Petals,

You are having your reception on the deck at the SSG? How did you arrange that? I do not see any details anywhere regarding this option. Is it the same cost as having it on the beach? Thanks for the e-mail that you sent me. Really helped!
