fanners85
Thank you for the great information. I'm so excited my fiancee is from La Romana and we will be having family from there and also having my family travel to La Romana to attend so I'm looking for something more than just 10-20 pple I'm guessing 40-60. Is it cheaper to marry in civil court in the U.S. or it doesn't make a difference? anyone knows?

But email her and tell her first which day you will want. I know your guests from LaRomana will have to buy day passes.(or you provide them) But tell the WC what you want. I know for Canada, its much cheaper to get married in a civil ceremony and then have a "symbolic" one in La Romana. Not sure about the states. bride5656
Hello ladies! This is my first time writing in the forum but, as many of you, I have been fallowing it for quite a while :D Me and my fiance are now in process of confirming our wedding in Dreams for beginning of March 2012!!! so when I found this forum I was very excited and after reading it all, thanks to all of you ladies, I feel like I have been to resort already and I have no worried about the weeding at all. As fanners85 mentioned above, congrats to all of you and you all look just pure beautiful I have been in touch with Yanna, so I know all the basics for now, however I have one question to those ladies who got married in Dreams already about make-up. Did you do it yourself or did you do it with a resort? And if you did how was it? And also, has anyone tried Etsy.com for invitations and wedding decorations? Their stuff looks awesome, but I thought I will see if I can get some feedback if someone used it already Thank you!
LisaRob
For any of the past brides....did any of you book the DJ services offered by the hotel? We aren't sure whether to bring our own music and speakers or to purchase the DJ services and put our faith into him that he will keep us dancing the whole night with crowd pleasing music! Please share your thoughts and experience....thanks!!!!
jenne
Hey LisaRob, I got married at DLR last April and we used the resort DJ. There were a few problems at the beginning because he did not have the right song for our first dance. I had to bring my laptop down and he was able to play it. Other than that though, the music was great. Everyone at our wedding was dancing all night and had a great time. He had a really good variety of music and was able to play almost all of the special request songs as well!
LisaRob
Thanks Jenne for that! By chance, did you bring your own speaker(s) from home? Did the Dj at the resort have all the typical Dj equipment? You mentioned that you brought your laptop...did you bring downloaded music with you as a back-up? uninspired1979
LisaRob- The DJ has a laptop and a large speaker, like a normal DJ size speaker that you would see at an event. What we did was load our music onto an iPod and I gave Yanna a break down list of how I want the music to be played since we wanted to have the music being played while we had dinner so that we could keep everyone busy. We also copied everything onto CD's as a backup. Be sure to have the USB for the iPod at the wedding if that is how you are going to do it, we ran into an issue because the iPod wasn't fully charged and someone had to run up to our room to find it for the DJ. Don't worry the speaker the DJ has is more than enough, our music was loud. Just be sure that you have everything written out for Yanna so that she can explain to the DJ how you want the music played since he hardly speaks any English. jenne
I agree with Uninspired. The DJ's speakers were great and we did not bring our own. The only songs I had on my laptop were for our first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son dances. I didn't even think we would need them because the DJ was supposed to have them, but he had the wrong songs. Other than those songs though, he played his own music and it was great! LisaRob
Thanks Jenne and Uninspired, you have both given me reassurance and one less thing to worry about!
