Custom Linen Suits $99!

Recommended Posts

I emailed customer support at studio suits and they replied within 24 hours asking when we need the suit by.  I said we would like to have it by June 1st and they said they replied that they would do their very best to make that happen.  So far, a good experience.  I will keep you all posted!

  • 2 weeks later...

We got my fiance's suit yesterday, and we absolutely LOVE it!!  It is SO PERFECT!!  We had a very specific order, changing the shape of the pants (fitted through the waist and legs, and bootcut at the bottom), and we order the Manhatten jacket, both in the Irish white linen.  They both fit him PERFECT!  I am so excited!!  I will try to get him to model it for me soon and I will post pics.

We just received my fiance's suit from Studio Suits. I can't say it's the suit of his dreams, but it's going to work just fine for the wedding (and we don't really have time to start over with something else anyway). We ordered the $99 suit in natural beige. The color is fantastic! Like others have said, they emailed us to confirm a couple of the measurements. The length of the suit is great, but the fit is a little strange. The pants ended up a little like low-riders instead of traditional suit pants, and the jacket is a little shorter than we'd expected. However, both are still acceptable, and we're confident it will look great in pictures. My fiance is also not planning on tucking in his shirt, which will fix the low rider issue as well. Either way, this suit was was than half the price of anything else we would've purchased, and he's about 6'5", so he's not the easiest person to find suits for to begin with.

He's said if he were to do it all over again, he probably wouldn't have used studio suits, but it's going to work out fine anyway.

The only other thing worth mentioning regarding customer service was that we started to get nervous when it had been 3 weeks and we hadn't heard anything from SS (ordered the beginning of May). Perhaps it was coincidence, but as soon as we emailed to check the status of the suit, they replied back saying they were shipping it that day. Now, of course there's no way to know whether it was going to ship out anyway, or whether it was just sitting around, but I wouldn't hesitate to email about the status if you think it's taking a little too long. They were very quick to respond, and very nice as well.

We'll post pictures after the wedding!

It took about a month from order to deliver, for shipping to New Westminster BC. I did the measurements myself. I rounded up to the larger number and even added 2 inches to the waist measurements. Only two of the guys have tried them on so far. The fit is exact and they are both really happy. When I say exact, I mean it literally, they can't gain any weight! I didn't realize the site lets you choose "ready-size" for a custom suit. So if you are unsure about your accuracy with a measuring tape, there is always that route. Also, when doing the custom measuring, there is a funky crotch measurement you have to take, I made my FI measure one of the groomsmen crotch, and Studiosuits actually emailed us to say the measurement seemed off and they would correct it. The adjustment they made was perfect.

I also wanted to touch on the "Trouser Fit" choices. One of the groomsmen wanted bootcut, while the others all chose "Classic Comfort Fit." In my opinion, the bootcut looks kinda girlie. The cut is pretty slender, the flares out slightly at the bottom. I know I know, thats what bootcut is, but on a linen suit, its pretty noticeable, and again, pretty girlie. But he loves them! So I guess thats all that matters. The CC, I would describe as regular pants. They are looser than the bootcut, and I'd say if you are unsure what to pick, would be a safe choice. I haven't tried to iron the suits, but they are less wrinkled than I anticipated they would be on arrival.

Overall I would give them 5Stars, and Two Thumbs Up. Great Value, Great Quality and my FI said he was going to order another suit from there because he liked his so much.
