I am leaving in four days and I am stupmed on this dance! I cannot find a song I like....... music is really important to me and my dad, so I'd rather pick an artist we like and then an appropriate song, but none of the lyrics are appropriate...............

I am considering ''In My Life'' by the Beatles, but it has no meaning to us.

I really don't want anything sappy. H E L P

If you like the beatles, what about "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys

Or "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John?

On the cheesy side, there is "My Daughter" by Loudin Wainwright III (the song plays in the closing credits of "Knocked Up" -- looooove it)

I'm the same way, my dad and i aren't into sappy, but maybe you'll feel different when the song pops on?

I used to sit on my Dad's lap and listen to Simon and Garfunkel records with him when I was little so it has a special meaning to us. I tear up every time I hear it!
Same hear. We are doing this song, because it's beautiful and perfect for us and because we used to listen to Paul Simon. The Graceland 'tape' used to be on repeat in the car when we did road trips. =)

I heart this song!!!

oK, I think I will give my dad these three choices and he can decide...

1) In My Life - The Beatles

2) The Way You Look Tonight - Frank Sinatra

3) When Stars go Blue - The Corrs w/ Bono

The Beatles, Sinatra and Bono are all artists with meaning for us so that fits! My dad really wanted a George Michael song, but I have to find one that didn't have an inappropraite meaning. LOL I was considering his version of 'Feeling Good' but my FI vetoed it................. *pulling my hair out!!!
