My dad and I danced to Knights In White Satin by The Moody Blues. My dad loves that song, and it always reminds me of him whenever I hear it.

Has anyone considered "The only way he knew how' by Bucky Covington? My dad was never touchy feely so I think this song is fitting, but I don't know if it's a bit too honest?

I want "Cleaning this gun" by Rodney Atkins, but I don't think my dad is going to go for it. He's a big John Fogerty fan so if we could find something by him, besides "Centrefield", lol, that would work better for us.

My sister did "What a Wonderful World" which I thought was really cute.  I'm going to do "I'll Be There" by the Jackson 5.

Any suggestions of songs that are short that would be appropriate? My dad isn't the biggest fan of dancing in public, but does want to do this, so I figured anything I can do to make it shorter and less painful would be best! Thanks!

I've never heard that song "Cinderella"  -- Absolutely beautiful!  I"m going to recommend this one to my stepdaughter for her to dance with her dad on 11/4/12   I absolutely love this site!!!  Even though I was married in July, 2009 (with lots of great ideas from here!), I am still a member and refer to it often.  Here's yet another great suggestion!

Looks like we're doing our father/daughter dance to "My Girl" by The Temptations.  Dad's special request since he also happens to be a big fan of theirs and even got pulled up on stage to dance with them at a concert a few years ago.
