I am also using I Loved Her First by Heartland.  I am not a country fan but the lyrics really were perfect so why not.

Lol. I know what you mean. I really want to have "I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll" as my Father/Daughter dance, but it is kind of about her old fling with the singer... I still think it could pass, but it isn't as perfect now that I've really listened to the lyrics...

a few times i've shot weddings where they father/daughter or mother/son or the couple will dance to what seems like a nice song till you listen to the lyrics. It's a little awkward watching a father and daughter dance to a song about "getting it on".

great suggestions but I am finding many are very much country style which is far from our liking. Does any one have any suggestions that have a European origin?

I am thinking about a song called "She's On Her Way" by a country singer named Phil Vassar.  Love love LOVE it!  I tear up everytime I hear it.

Holy crap, Kelly....I just listened to this and I only made it about 2 lines before crying.  And I'm not even that sentimental!!  Great song.
