Im thinking of having my wedding next summer at the beach, the shark reef or at the chapel. I'm leaning more towards the chapel and have most of pictures around the property. I would love the shark reef, but your wedding has to be at 9:00AM, before the exhibit opens to the public at 10AM. Let me know what you plan to do and I will do the same.

I was wondering if you did this?  I am getting married on the Mandalay beach in less then a month; with the suite reception.

This route was cheaper then at home, but we are spending about $200/guest (40 guests).  I have had a few concerns along the way, so wanted to inquire about the experience.

We had a wonderful wedding!!!

Michelle was our wedding coordinator, and she was amazing.  The beach was spotted, decorated well, and felt very intimate & private.  Mandalay Bay can accommodate most requests (make up & hair, etc...) and a picture is all that is needed for special requests (flowers, cake, etc....)  The pool at Mandalay is truly a great setting for a night time wedding.

The Spa suite is offered to Brides & Grooms at a great rate and is a large spacious room. (We stayed the entire week, and everyone used our room as a 'meeting' point because of the space to accommodate)

I would recommend doing the In-Suite reception (Includes liquor & champagne toast, food, and beautiful wedding cake).  ( L-Suite is beautiful)  Service is provided (Bartender and Meat Carver) and the room is then the couple's for the night.  The suite was large enough for all the girls & mothers to get ready in prior to the wedding.  The room is also 'piped' for sound, so our guest danced the night away to an I-pod mix.

Things to be aware of:

All reservations OTHER than the day of the wedding are your responsibility - no one from the Wedding Chapel will make these for you. (Example:  Our rehearsal dinner - it was up to us to call different restaurants in the hotel and work out separate arrangements and contracts.)  This does make planning events in a different state/city a little more difficult.

If you want to bring your own photographer - there are restrictions applied by Mandalay Bay's Vendors.  (We had to purchase separate pics of the ceremony from Mandalay Bay - our photographer was not allowed to shoot any pics on the beach)

The 'service' at Mandalay Bay was a little disappointing.  As a couple, we spent quite a bit of money (Wedding, reception, dinners, events) and brought 40 additional guest who all spent money; yet were somewhat treated like we had used a free coupon for the weekend....lol.

I hope this helps!!!!  Overall - this wedding is well worth the costs & is truly unique.46361_444608129854_731019854_5066935_3572279_n.jpg61501_438325609854_731019854_4937780_7818863_n.jpg61628_438325714854_731019854_4937791_2979617_n.jpgsdfdsfadrdgjh.bmpsdfsdf.bmp
