How safe is a Mexico Wedding right now?????????

Hi every1!! I am getting married in Riviera Maya feb 2010 but I am having some issues with both our families trying to make us change the wedding because of all the violence going on in Mexico...I need advice!!! Is anyone else worried How safe is it
