Yes, I was over the moon when I recieved the email from the WC to confirm the new date and time. Printed a copy off today, and put in it my folder to take with me.

 

Why the wedding dept could not have been more helpful I don't know. But I am so very happy that the Riu WC was able to change it because, although I still don't know what time slot I got for the 4th I do now know it can't of been the one that we requested.

 

Anyway, I really hope that you get sorted and fingers & toes crossed that you are still able to get one of your 2 dates that you have requested and your 4.00pm time slot.

i don,t log on for 1 day and look what happens.i went to the pub after work yesterday to sit in the sunshine and have a glass of wine.but i have been thinking about you i tell you i am hooked.but im back come on breathe and think positive thoughts.

well i emailed the hotel and i got a very polite email telling me to go away and they will contact me 2 mths before the wedding date.i understand this i just need to chill and realise there is,nt really that much they can do until then.i am just going to do a scrapbook type planner so that when they do contact me i know exactly what i want.they did send me a detailed faq sheet for the hotel.it is for the hotel we are getting married at but it has some helpful general info if you want to see it can i pm it to you?i just dont want to post it on here in case someone gets mixed up.

 

i have spoken to the translation company and it turns out we don,t have to get anything translated as we are both single etc etc (simple cases hehe) but she said to call back in november to check things have,nt changed.so that will save us £300 that our ta said we would have to pay.

Thanks, yes I feel that I can really start to look forward now and will start looking for the dress. Yes, I have also been informed it will be 2mths before the WC will contact me.

good, you will get busy now but not actually doing anything like me.i am dreading it in a few months time when we have nothing to stress about hehe.like i have said i am just gonna pass time by doing some kind of scrap book or something so it keeps it real for me and when they do contact me i know what i want.i need to sort our reception out at home as well.are you doing anything when you come back?

Not sure if we are doing anything when we get back yet or. But got time to think about that now I am not stressing any more.

 

I know H2B would like to do something when we get back for friends and family who are not able to come to the wedding.

Hope desser is doing okay, she may be having a break from the site because it is even more stressful when you see other B2B's getting their confirmation dates and times, when you are still waiting. But fingers crossed that the Wedding dept and TA, will pull out all the stops for her now, having messed up her booking big time.

sorry not been on her for a few days, glad you 2 are all sorted, BUT!!!.......we are not!! the wedding department have still not recieved our forms, now i rang on Monday very angry indeed and they said we have sent them today special next day delivery!!! I rang yesterday again and they still do not have them!!?? i got very upset on the phone and the wedding department said they will do all they can to sort this out, i also rang my TA and they didnt even know what forms i was talking about!!! and not even an apology!! after this is sorted i will be writing one nasty letter to Thomsons!!

 

one thing i have not told you both (because i am embarassed) i actually work for Thomsons as cabin crew!!!

 

i will ring again today so fingers crossed!! so upset

Hey, you have nothing to be embrassed about, it is the Wedding dept team & the staff in the TA that should be embrassed for making a total cock up of your wedding booking.

desser - there really is no need to be embarrassed it is thier problem not yours.i hope because you do work for them they have given you a big discount hehe.hopefully the next time you log on it will be good news.if not we will be here waiting or you.can you get the managers name in the shop and deal with only them?then everytime you ring up at least she/he will know exactly who you are.

 

baj-great news about the bookings.are they close friends?i can remember you saying about the family thing.how many people are you hoping to go?i bet it feels more real now?

 

i have been back to the dress shop today and put deposit on my dress.the one with the pleated bottom.got to wait until i have lost all of my wieght and become a size 8 (rito) and go back in december for all of the alts to be done.another thing ticked off the list.i have got to think of something else to do now to keep the wedding feeling alive.

Hi Shellk and desser,

 

4 family members booked so far ( 2 from each side) & bewteen 15 - 20 have said that they would like to go and is including some with their partners and the single's with their friends. However, some have also booked hols for this summer so we will see. It will be nice if they all get there, but because I was not expecting a lot of friend's and family to be there, I will not be upset if the number drop's.

 

Good choice of dress shellk although they were both reallly beautiful, one less thing to worry about, have you got the wedding rings yet?

 

desser - hope you have some good news after the weekend, you certainly deserve it and as shellk said with a big discount or some major up grades!!!!!

no rings or anything else.my plan is don,t know how long it will last as i get worried and impatient but if we wait until xmas sales for rings + jons suit?my next thing is i need to find out if there is anything i can hire to keep our chili +chicken (for fajitas) hot for our mexican party back home because if not it might mean we have to have the usual reception with buffet.because we are doing our own food our venue will not let us use the kitchens.their charges are ridiculous.
