Feb 2010 ROR - Wedding Pack has arrived!!

we have been waiting about 3 weeks now, went in to thomsons today actually and the hotel confirmed they had recieved the forms but still heard nothing re date and time!!?? we were told when we booked our group booking back in Nov that it would all be confirmed end of March early April so getting frustrated now!!! just worried that people who booked wedding online are getting first priority and we will not get what we want!!

yes, I feel exactly the same and it does appear that it is only taking a couple of days for those booking direct with the hotel to have their requested dates and time confirmed. The only reason I did not do it that way is because we felt safer doing it via the TA. Oh well fingers crossed we both hear this week.

the reason we booked through TA was because they said if you book it yourself then you have to sort all your paper work out and when you get there there is more to sort but through them they sort it all for you?? prob a load of rubbish just to get their bonus!!!

 

anyway never mind like you say fingers crossed and hopefully we all get what we want : )

when did you book your weddings with thompson?we booked the last weekend in feb and i got my wedding pack saturday.

 

they did say once that riu received the booking confirmation form that you had to fill in and send back it takes them 14 days to confirm your date with thompsons weddings dept.they will then send your pack to your thompsons shop (bout 2-3 days).

 

i know how you feel i was exactly the same but everything will be fine.it did,nt feel real to me until i had the wedding date confirmed.it was a big anti climax too cause when i went to collect my pack i was expecting a real thick folder but all you get is a letter confirming your date and a list of email addresses for the different hotels.and a small list of extras that you can order.

 

i am now making a biiiggg list of questions that i keep thinking of to email to the wc @ riu hotel.

Hi desser & shellk,

 

We booked in March and my H2B took the forms back to the Thomsons Travel Agent's last Tuesday or Wed, however I asked him to phone the Wedding dept this morning, which he did.

Good News I think, they told him that our wedding pack with confirmation of the date and time of the Wedding was posted out to us yesterday. We did not receive any post today so I hope to receive it tomorrow, however being a typical man, he did not think to check if we do have the date and time that we have requested.

Well, first the good news the confirmation pack was sent to Thomsons for us to pick up tomorrow and the Wedding date is confirmed for 4th March but the bad news is no confirmation of the time which was my only priority when we booked the wedding. Thomsons are phoning the Wedding department to try and find out why there is no confirmation of the time. Because when I phoned to check with them I was informed that I would find out until we arrived at the hotel.

 

Very upset & angry when I known that this is not the case.

 

I have emailed Dionne WC a really nice email to ask for confimation of the time myself, but the one thing I don't want is a early Wedding. I am feeling so fustrated now.

 

Will keep you updated but I guess it is another waiting game now to hear back from Dionne.

 

Desser have you tried phoning the Wedding dept direct?

after reading so many posts there seems to be alot of inconsistency, thats crazy baj!! i would be fuming to!!

 

what is the number for the wedding department i will give them a ring!? when do we find out about our reception is it when we get there or can you reserve this by e-mail so confused and frustrated!!
