Feb 2010 ROR - Wedding Pack has arrived!!

Hi girls and guys

 

I have recieved in the post today my wedding pack for our wedding in Feb 2010 it has lots of forms and things to fill out not sure if this is just for UK brides or all getting married in jamaica??

has anyone else getting married in early 2010 recieved these? is this confirmation of my date or am i still waiting for that?? we booked back in november 2008 through Thomsons travel agents?? but was told the dates are not released untill the end of March im a bit confussed??

 

Be good to hear from anyone getting married around the same time as me we are there for 3 weeks from 9th Feb - 2nd March 2010?! I cant wait to get planning for the day!?!

Hi Riu bride, I booked our wedding with the hotel directly but it was all done online. Is the wedding pack from Thomson or Riu? I do know that First choice send out wedding packs so Thomson prob follow the same lines. The time will just fly by between now & your wedding, our day is in 2 weeks today, we're leaving the 31st, a week from Tuesday...can't honestly believe how fast its all come together.

We have just recieved our forms etc but have been told by Thomsons that the forms need to be sent back before confirmation of day and time, we have done this and are just waiting now!!...what did you get in your pack? And does anyone know when you can arrange your meal and reception?

We booked Wedding Package with Thomsons on Friday just gone for the Riu ClubHotel Negril. We will be there 1/03/10 until 15/03/10 and hope to be married 4th or 5th of March 2010 at 4.00pm. We were informed by Thomsons that they would email Riu to request the date and time requested and that they would send us a wedding information pack out this week and would confirm the date and time of the wedding within the next 2 weeks.

We are getting married on 6 Feb 2010 and bookd our wedding party through Portland who are owned by Thomson's but booked the wedding directly with the Riu just like Sarah and got our confirmation date within about 5 days and there was only a few bits to fill out online. Very simple indeed so not sure why you will not get your date until March/April via Thomson's. Perhaps it may be worth you booking your wedding directly with the hotel?

 

Also, when booking online to co-oridnator makes contact with you a month or two before to sort out all the finer details i.e. reception, flowers etc.

thats strange!?? i think by the sounds of it we would be better going through hotel directly especially as our travel agent is never in work and never gets back to us!! very frustrating!! all we want to know is our date, time and reception...i am worried now that people who want same date have already got confirmation as they went direct through hotel!! : (

Hi girls!

 

right what happened was i recieved a wedding pack from thomsons which had forms to fill in with parents names and other details get these back ASAP because then on Monday i had the date confirmed in writting!

 

i was told by thomsons that whn you book through them they request the date with riu online the same way that people booking it themselves do but tick a box to say they are an agent! then they chase the date for you through riu so you dont have to! The actual confirmation is in writting and riu dont release confirmation until 11 months before the date of your wedding! so i have now got my date and another wedding pack that has all the prices of extras email addresses for different things and details on what to do next!

 

i was exactly the same as you guys thought i was gonna miss out on my date and time as others booking online were getting confirmation and not us but i was told by the weddings department at riu that there are some confussions between an email to confirm you have requested your date and actual confirmation of the wedding!

 

so whether they were just trying to shut me up or its true i dont no but try not to worry i have just recieved mine for Feb2010 so yours should be soon for March!
