Staying together the night before wedding?

Recommended Posts

I agree that it is a very personal choice.

We will be sleeping apart to build the anticipation of seeing each other on our wedding day. Plus, I will enjoy the last night with my best friend for sharing memories and keeping me calm!

I dont know what we will end up doing, we are currently in a long distance relationship.. I'm hoping to be able to move out there by the end of summer. & we will be living together at that time.   I think I would like to be apart the night before just to have the excitement of seeing each other as i walk down the isle.. the choice is yours & yours alone, dont let others make it for you.

We are going to stay in separate rooms the night before, I think FI will just stay with his Best Man (and brother).  There is only one thing that he has been very adamant about and that was no "first look" or picture before the actual wedding.  He wants the first time he sees me to be when I am walking down the aisle and I think that its really sweet.  For that reason we'll stay apart.  We too have lived together for over 4 years so we aren't exactly traditional but this will be our nod to tradition.  The morning of I believe he is going to go golf with his GM and some friends so that will be easy for us not to see each other!

Well-said Ms Di!

We live together, but are staying apart from the time we arrive in Mexico up until the wedding night. Partially, because I'd like to build the anticipation, but also - I'm really close to my mom, so we got a larger suite and figured it would be a great 'hub' for all the girls during the week. Plus, I figured I'd be assembling lots of gift bags, running around to WC meetings, makeup/hair trial, etc...so I'll spare him the last minute bridal mania ;)

I figure we have the wedding night and honeymoon (and, well...the rest of our lives) to enjoy each other!

Thanks for sharing ladies!

I think we'll stay apart if we can figure it out, I'm sure he can stay with one of his GM or I can stay with one of my girls. I too want to build up the anticipation, although I'm afraid to leave him with his friends! They might over-indulge in the drinks and end up hungover!

My fiance is the one who actually said he wants us to separate the night before.  I think its cute!  We live together so....I think its funny.  Are wedding package upgrades us to a suite so he will give the suite to the girls....my MOH and my daughter (bridesmaid) and he will stay with his Bestman.  We want to keep the element of surprise!  love.gif

I really think we will spent the night apart because it really does build up an anticipation for the wedding day and night, just to make it a little bit more special. But I definitely feel it is a person choice, if you want to spend the night together great if not that's great too.
